" Our homeschooling family absolutely loved our stay at La Banque! We came from Hickory, KY and Metropolis, IL to celebrate my son's 12th birthday, and this beautiful old bank turned into the perfect history lesson. We were fascinated by the original vault (and loved getting to sleep in it!), and we spent time talking about what life might ve been like here in the 1920s. "We had a blast at this home. It was very cozy, clean and very large. We loved the deck and how roomy everythingwas. My only complaint was the smell of the home. There is a paper mill a few miles away and the smell was terrible and seemed to linger inside the house. We took candles but it was still pretty strong. It was not like that last year when we came to visit so I am not sure why it was so bad this year. I would definitely rent this home again. It was a great deal and our group loved it. "

"Stunningly beautiful is what comes to mind when thinking of our stay. The host was great with responding to questions and very accommodating. It was cozy, private, and so comfortable. We felt close to everything, yet, at the same rate, it was very private. Everything we needed was in the cabin, and it was decorated in a homey fashion. We felt right at home. "

"Beautiful little gem thats perfect to get away from it all. I cannot say enough about the place, the host or the setting. Deer, hummingbirds, BlueJays ect. Gorgeous wild flowers. Super clean. Newer remodel and appliances. We plan to use this one again when we are back in the area.If you need to escape and want tranquility, this is the place!!!"
