"A very nice place to stay while hiking the coast to Coast trail. Alex and Jacqueline were wonderful for our check-in and our breakfast in the morning.very personable and friendly. It was such a comfy room that it was a shame we didn't arrive earlier. We had a 16 mile day of hiking so we didn't get there until almost dark! Would highly recommend this as a stop. "

"We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Ellerbrook House. The hosts were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. The room was clean, comfortable and had lovely extra touches with free toiletries and tea/coffee. The breakfasts were lovely and there was a lot of choice. "Hit really lucky weather wise it was a beautiful weekend, B&B is in excellent location just a stones throw from Ambleside town we checked in efficiently with Jo who is really warm and welcoming - room was comfortable and well presented with everything we needed. "Wonderful place to stop while hiking the coast to coast trail. Didn't realize you had to walk around the building to check in just off the parking lot, since we didn't arrive by car. Steph was so welcoming and did a load of wash for us for a small donation in their cup on the bar. A fire alarm went off at 450 am bolting us out of bed. Turned out to be nothing but I think I remember reading about this happening before in someone's write up. Dinner and breakfast was good! "

"Lake nice. Rooms like any Ibis but too expensive. Small swimming pool we didn't use it. And paying extra for amenities and Internet it's just a terrible idea. "I might have misread the blurb, was expecting a kitchenette and a full size fridge so was surprised to find just a kettle and mini fridge. My room was one of the tiny ones which was expected, room was clean as was shower & toilet. Bed was a single but comfy, slept like a baby although the 14 miles walked helped! Nice pub next door with quiz on Thursdays! Overall good value, and help only a phone call away. Good location on a quiet road midway between Windermere and Bowness"
