RVA offers Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort. Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #253A will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles, fishing pier and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center.



Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.

Yes host was very nice. The room advertised for Suite 253A was not at all the actual 253A that I stayed in. It was very dreary, no comforter, old dingy brown furniture, hospital quality blankets. A very dark, unhappy feel. The room deserves a refresh to match the amazing location!

The room itself definitely needed some updates. There were areas in the bathroom that had started to be touched up but it was a different color than the rest of the walls. The room itself also needed updating. It is a beautiful area but this resort is def run down.

Fantastic Location

Access to the quiet, private beach was fantastic. There are plenty of lounge chairs on the beach for use by residents and umbrellas in each unit. I could overlook the outdated condo for the sake of having a great location and access to the gorgeous, quiet beach. There was not elevator access to my room on the second floor so I suggest requesting a lower level room if you are unable to carry luggage up and down a flight of stairs.

Beach heaven....

Second time here....beach is pristine...sand soft and white..the Gulf at her finest. The staff particularly MARGARET went out of her way to accommodate....so helpful and friendly. Met wonderful people...overall a great vibe. no elevator...........i had to schlep upstairs but no big deal. Ill be back

Beach tranquility

The property was "Old Florida" but clean and pleasant. The pool was a lovely alternative to the beach and not over run by children. The beach was fantastic- it was natural and not crowded. Walking on the beach everyday was restorative and tranquil.

Overall very good, but for budget vacationers. You're renting a room with little amenities, but for us it was fine. Room could have been cleaner. Pool, beach and grounds were very nice and Ryan was awesome!

Perfect getaway

We had never been to Longboat Key before now. What a lovely surprise. The people, unit, complex with heated beautiful pool and located right on the beach, what’s not to love. I would highly recommend Silver sands. I look forward to next year’s return.

The efficiency apt was as expected. As we were napping in bed Saturday afternoon very load drilling noise coming from (apparent) construction in next door apt woke us. Lasted approximately 15-20 minutes. No warning from property manager.

Great little beach getaway

I wanted a quiet little place for a weekend beach getaway and silver sands was perfect. The grounds are well kept, the pool was nice, and the beach was beautiful!! My one and only complaint was the bed, pretty uncomfortable and the sheets were very hot. But other than that it was a wonderful stay and I would stay again!
