"This is a little hidden gem in Alajeula! The restaurant/bar staff was especially friendly, helpful and polite. The bartender/mgr. Christopher, was exemplary! drinks were excellent, breakfast was quite tasty. The grounds are so lovely, we just regret we didn’t have more time to walk the trails of the property. The road facing room we had was pretty sparse and a bit noisy. I would recommend you upgrade to at least an interior room."

As you have to keep doors open for ventilation, the surrounding area sounds such as motorcycles on the road and rooster next door are more apparent. Overall recommend!"

"We chose the hotel for it's convenient location in the city of Orotina , where we were visiting relatives .
The staff was good , perhaps a little inattentive on check out. The reception office was closed and I had to look around for someone to return my key.
Be advice there's is a very noisy soccer academy right next door . We were alocated on room 11 , close to the academy . It can be an issue if you are trying to rest early evening ."

"The stay was good. Walking the property, I really wanted to give a few ideas for improvement. The yoga area was pretty but needed a good re-fresh. There's no way anyone would want to do yoga there, in the condition that it was in. Needs a good power washing and re-staining of the deck, and the pond was full of leaves - could use a good cleaning and maybe some koi. The view from the room was incredible. The open air restaurant with its observation deck is a great place for birdwatching since there are feeders at the edge of the deck and the staff puts out fruit and seeds early when the birds are active. "They just finished painting the pool edge...looks great. This is our 3 year at the Trapp Family Inn. The only thing that was different was it was warmer than usually in San Jose than in previous years. The rooms were definitely warmer, but we were glad we had ceiling fans.
Service, Food, and hospitality were great. We'll be BACK!"

"I got a single at Garden House and paid for the pick-up service from the airport. As a solo female traveler, I was nervous about staying here by myself, but everything was great! Gerardo picked me up right on time, safely drove me to the property, and showed me around the house. The managers kindly shared go-to spots around San Jose and nearby areas.
