This was a very lovely home—perfectly sized for our family, with most amenities as described. We truly appreciated the bicycles in the garage, which were a pleasant surprise, and the golf cart vehicle, which was a very useful addition to our stay. That said, our family vacation was not without disappointment. We selected this home for several reasons, one of the most important being the elevator. We traveled with our elderly mother, who has difficulty walking and using stairs, so the elevator was expected to be a tremendous benefit. Upon arrival, however, the first thing we saw were handwritten notes crudely taped to the elevator doors indicating it was out of order. This created an unfavorable first impression and made us feel as though we had checked into a poorly maintained property. We believe this outage should have been communicated before booking or arrival. While we were offered the option of an alternative property after we arrived and called for assistance, we’d already moved in and were inconvenienced. The elevator outage had a significant impact on our stay. Ultimately, a 500 credit was offered, which was appreciated. There were also several maintenance issues. First, the first-floor bathroom was unusable because it had been clogged by a beverage can left by previous renters. We also provided photos upon arrival documenting holes in the walls caused by door handles and prior guests. In the main third-floor bedroom, the bathroom vent rained water when in use.
