I struggled with how to rate this place, and I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. When I think about individual details, I'm inclined to lean toward 3, but the overall experience was so charming that I rounded up to 4.
Our overall experience was very nice; in fact, we even extended our stay a couple of days, since we were having such a nice time in Santa Fe. The house is spacious and well laid out, and the main living space has an absolutely terrific vibe. The neighborhood was also quiet and pleasant, and we really felt like we had the world to ourselves. The home also has a great laundry/utility room. We were staying for a couple of weeks and lot of gear, so it was actually amazing having all of this storage space.
Where this home lost points was in the technical details. Generally the house was outfitted adequately, though we ran out of soap, toilet paper, and trash bags after a couple of days and had to go buy our own. It was reasonably clean, but a little below average based on the (many) vacation rentals we've stayed in. There was also one closet that we presume must have had a sewage leak at some point, or something like that, as it always smelled terrible. The bathrooms and kitchen were also adequate but could use some updating. Finally, we were a little disappointed in the view. The listing showed panoramic mountain views, which was something extremely important to us. We love to sit on the porch and enjoy the sunset. What the listing doesn't show is that the yard (in standard Santa Fe fashion) is fenced in. So, I guess you could have had those views if you stood up and peeked over the fence, but otherwise you mostly just saw fence. We actually took folding chairs out to the driveway a couple of times to make up for this.
So, overall, we really enjoyed ourselves, and we would be fine to stay here again, but, given the choice, I would probably look for one of the many other Santa Fe rentals with the hope of getting more of the details right.
