" A small hotel, this is run by a nice couple who focus on making sure their guests' needs are met. It is close to the SJO airport & provides pickups as well as shuttles to SJO. This morning we needed to leave before the scheduled breakfast time and they made sure to provide the full breakfast for us early. "Peter and his staff were so kind and welcoming, he even stayed up until 1am for our late flight. The only complaint are the beds were pretty stiff, but that’s common in CR. It’s under the flight path of the airport so you will hear the jets every now and then, it can be loud at times. Overall I was very pleased with the sincere kindness we received, that to me means a lot. Thanks!"

"My four-night stay at Hotel Don Ernesto La Chimba was wonderful, highlighted by the friendly staff and the absolutely excellent breakfast spread. The location is incredibly peaceful, tucked away in the jungle yet conveniently just 30 minutes from the airport. While some reviewers highlight that the rooms aren't Ritz-Carlton quality, I think it is important to note that the prices certainly reflect that, and the hotel offers tremendous value for an authentic and relaxing stay."
