OCEANVIEW Rodanthe - Hatteras Island Estates - Discover your own private TROPICAL PARADISE at this island vacation home. Pull up past the tropical landscaping, step up into the house, and ride with your luggage in the elevator. You might prefer to first take a quick dip in the sparkling private pool or a soak in the relaxing hot tub. When you need a break from the sun, spend some time in the ground-level game room with a pool table, flat screen TV/DVD, and wet bar with full-size refrigerator and microwave. You'll also find three bedrooms on this level: a master pyramid bunk bedroom, a pyramid bunk bedroom with a semi-private bath, and a queen bedroom. On the second level, you'll find the mid-level den with comfy seating and a large HDTV. Also on this level are two queen master bedrooms, a laundry room, a half bath, and a sprawling king master suite with ocean and soundview decks, a private sitting area, and a master bath with Jacuzzi. Head up to the third level and you'll find the spacious great room and two bedrooms: a king master bedroom with Jacuzzi and a bedroom with 2 bunks and a semi-private bath. The kitchen is a chef's heaven with plenty of room to whip up a meal while enjoying the company of friends and family seated at the bar. Then join everyone for a family meal at the nearby dining area with two large high-top tables followed by an evening of puzzles and games or relaxing in the airy great room. Whether playing or relaxing, everyone can enjoy their favorite music or streaming TV, or maybe take in a movie on the flat screen home theater system with DVD. You've truly found paradise when you unwind on one of the three levels of outdoor decks. Your family will agree that TROPICAL PARADISE is truly a vacation utopia.

It's not what they advertise!!

We enjoyed ourselves overall but the house has tons of electric issues they advertise the fire place but it's broke and bei it cold it would have been nice to enjoy a nice fire but no you guys called my wife to see if anything needed taken care of she told them and no one ever showed up to fix anything poor business for what they charge you for the house the area is nice but will never rent from them again.

Dishes were in cabinets dirty food still on them, house smelled bad not clean, floors gross,

The floors were dirty. We had to spend a day cleaning before we could cook or relax not ok!! We tried to call to get assistance with things that were broken no one ever called us back i finally sent an email took am extra day to get back to me and the hot tub was never fixed until today as we were packing up to leave. It was a simple fix the braker just had to be flipped if they would have just sent someone it could have been fixed in less than 5 min. Instead we went 3 and a half days without the hot tub. The main reasons for us to rent this house is the pool and hot tub were still open. Very disappointed in the lack of communication and the cleanliness of the home. I can 100% say we left that house a thousand times cleaner than when we arrived.

Very misleading

Listing pictures are old, probably from when the house was built. Paint is faded, decks are worn, steps are loose, pool handbar broken and halfway repaired. Sliding glass doors missing locks and the tracks were filthy requiring 2 hands to open and close. Lights out everywhere, main floor, bathrooms, elevator, entry way. Broken floor tiles in kitchen and dining room, broken blinds everywhere. Cable box in den unauthorized, cable box in queen room missing cable to connect to TV. Missing mattress covers in multiple rooms. Full sized bed instead of queen. Return vents, registers and bathroom fans FILTHY. Whiskers and hair left in 3 bathrooms. Broken drawers, cabinets, toilet paper holders throughout. No wifi code on fridge, on the 3rd day we found it on a second modem in the back corner of the den. Despite listing CLEARLY stating that all linens were provided, we discovered that they were not and we were sent a quote for over $600.00 for them to provide sheets and towels. Only the initial reservation takes place on VRBO, after that you are forced to use the rental companies website which changes the description, amenities, pay schedules and requirements taking any safeguards and protections offered by VRBO away. All of this could be overlooked if the rental company would actually communicate, but they won't. After multiple calls and messages, we NEVER got a return call from them. Not prior to our trip, not during our trip, still not to this day. Our advice would be to avoid this rental company at all costs, I don't care how good a deal it appears to be.

Dirty and needs updates!

This house was in a nice location and looked great on the rental site. However, we were 100% dissatisfied with this rental. It was our first family vacation and the home was not what we expected. The toilet in the master on the 2nd level was broken upon arrival. Obviously no one knew that until they had already used it. Called Surf or Sound and they were prompt in having someone repair it. That was the only good thing that happened. The third level master had a ton of flies in the room and we couldn’t figure out why. Upon inspecting it we found 2 rotten tomatoes, a half eaten apple, and onion peels under the bed. The floors needs swept, The laundry room stunk from 2 soured mops that were in there. Also, the dryer wouldn’t dry out clothes so we had to hang them to dry. I reported this to maintenance but they moved the dryer further from the wall and said that would fix the problem. The pool sticks were all broken in half. Everything was outdated from the beds to the TVs. The wifi did not work at all while we were there. The kitchen was the worst room in the house. it was filthy. The dishes were nasty, the sink was dirty and we had to clean the entire kitchen before we could use it. There is so much more. I would not recommend this property to anyone until it is updated and seriously cleaned and sanitized.

Underwhelming

Several things broken in the property, and it took multiple calls over multiple days to have anything addressed. Property is worn. Kitchen was unimpressive as far as cooking tools. Linens were poor quality.
