OCEANVIEW Rodanthe - South Shore Drive - Experience great vacation memories of LA VIDA LOCA. You'll have your own private swimming pool for family fun, shaded hot tub just for relaxing, and convenient cabana half bath nearby. The community beach access is just a short walk away on the cul-de-sac. The village offers a walking/bicycle path making it easy to get to the Rodanthe Fishing Pier, restaurants, shopping and other activities all within walking distance from the home. The first floor features a dry entry that leads to 2 downstairs bedrooms that share a full bath. The second floor has 3 bedrooms (1 master) and 2 full baths. Two bedrooms open onto a shaded mid-level oceanside deck. The foyer also opens onto a covered front porch. This level has a laundry nook with washer/dryer. The expansive top floor great room has vaulted ceilings and sliders that open onto a wide furnished deck that features stunning ocean and sound views for spectacular sunrises and sunsets. You will love the well-equipped kitchen with large breakfast bar, large dining area and a convenient powder room. If you like having fun, enjoying life and living it up, you will truly find the good life in the beautiful LA VIDA LOCA vacation home.

Love the neighborhood

The neighborhood is great. Very easy to walk to a beach access right down the street. We had some initial concern of cleaniness of the house due to a new cleaning crew but the property manager did a great job at responding quickly. They did a wonderful job at handling any issue.

Great Family Vacation Beach House

The home had plenty of room and several decks you could pick and choose to sit on. Loved the top deck, beautiful views all around and great area to see the sunset over the water. Beach was a just a one min walk up the street and when it got too hot we just walked back and enjoyed the inground pool. Kids had a blast night swimming. Only issue we had was clothes were left behind from previous renters. Also there were 2 inappropriate items found by my my kids. I did notify Surf & Sound and I did dispose of the items. Other than that it was a great Family vacation

not our best house

This was the 5th multi generation beach house vacation rental for our family. By fgar the worst house we have had. : 1) was not very well cleaned. 2) all the beds were noisy and uncomfortable...no one slept well. 3) nearly impossible to watch any of the T.V.s needed streaming.

Wasn’t what we hoped for

Sorry to say but this house needs updated. The mattress are horrible! The one in the master bedroom creaks and has no support. I weigh 145 so I don’t think it was me that makes it that way. The carpets are stained everywhere (it’s a shore house take the carpet out) the refrigerator is to small and there was sand on the bathroom floors when we got there. The pool was great and the house is located in a great spot. I’m sorry but if you wanted the truth this is it.

La Vida Loca 257- Rodanthe

I am ER nurse who has worked through a year of COVID. No vacation in 2020 so we had high hopes for this one. We stayed in Rodanthe and the beach/neighborhood was amazing. We will go back but not to a Surf or Sound Realty Property . The good things about the property : pool was nice as well as hot tub. The location was also great. The views were great. The bad unfortunately was hard to overcome starting with the 60 inch TV in family space was aged projection TV unwatchable because of white spots. The TV in another room was unwatchable as the screen looked like it had been dragged through gravel. Both of these things did not just occur. I called and left a voicemail and text to Surf or Sound Realty on day we arrived July 3rd. A repairman came out on 4th and replaced the scratched TV and said the 60 inch projection TV was “shot” . I texted Surf and Sound on the 5th and asked for a loaner TV and they brought a 32 inch was brought up the next day on July 6. On the morning of 7th I attempted to use toaster that was plugged in the island/bar area and a fuse blew. All electrical outlets within this kitchen island/bar quit working including the dish washer. I texted and called Surf and Sound on 7th and 8th and finally on evening of 8th got a text back apologizing and informed a work order had been placed. On 9th I called and text again and received a call of apology and assured a work order had been placed. We left on 10th and the breaker still had not been reset. We searched the house inside and out and could not find the breaker box. There was a locked box in the covered area under the house And we assumed it was there. It was a bummer all dishes had to be hand washed for 1/2 of vacation. In addition the house had a teal blue carpet in living space/steps/bedrooms that was badly stained and outdated. It appears the interior walls had fresh paint as the original add showed wood walls. The pool was nice and kids enjoyed night swimming but the pool furniture was plastic and chairs were cracked and broke. We loved the size of LaVida Loca and the kitchen was stocked well. The air condition worked very well. And Views were amazing. So given All of this we give this a 3.

Great location

The location was great quiet street close to beach, stores, etc. Only complaint were the beds not comfortable at all none of us had a good night sleep. House could use some updating but other than that we had a wonderful vacation!
