OCEANVIEW Waves - Island Pines Dr. - Formerly Playa-N-Waves - Located only 4 lots from the ocean, this thoughtfully designed home has three separate entertainment areas, including a game room with 7' pool table and wet bar with refrigerator, a den with sofa bed, and a great room with large screen TV/DVD with surround sound and ocean views. Exit the first floor game room and step down to the deck with private swimming pool and a bubbly 6 person hot tub. Enjoy wraparound sundeck and shaded deck for reading. Great space for a multigenerational family getaway. Beautiful beach location. House well maintained. Great location and super easy check-in. We even got in a couple hours earlier than our 6pm check in. Would definitely rent from Surf or Sound again.

Disappointed

We had several issues during our stay which they did address once we left they said. Broken stair on deck that was dangerous, mold on walls, air ducts had dust shooting out, top bunk wet, shower curtains moldy, head board broken, fan broken, shower stopped up, floors nasty, cobwebs everywhere, ice dispenser broken, chairs wobbly and dangerous, tiny ocean view, furniture broken, trash under beds and in closets, breakfast area stunk like urine and other things. Not pleased but still had a good time. Beach was very dangerous and littered with boards with nails sticking to everywhere from the houses that fell in and two got nails in their feet. Ocean drops off and hard for kids to play in. Nice area, short walk to beach. Some things to do not much.

Great get away at the quiet south OBX!

We were impressed with the the beauty and design of this home. The open concept kitchen and living area was very comfortable. The porches were around the whole house so we could sit in the sun or shade. The pool/ hot tub and jacuzzi were very clean and enjoyable. The location was near the beach and a short drive to restaurants and a convenience store. We loved it and look forward to coming back!

Good Times

Everything was smooth, house was great. Great location, short walk to the beach. Lots of local dining/activity. Pool was nice. Could use a bit fresh carpet in some spots, kitchen countertops, maybe a deep clean or replacement of some of the furniture. Overall everyone had a great time!

Misleading

This home did not have a oceanview, was extremely outdated, worn out, abused, chipped counters, broken shades, scratched hardwoods, shredded curtains.....awful!!! All of the pots and pans in the kitchen were scratched just gross!!! Owner never put a penny back into this property!!! Well to the 80's original theme!!!!

good fit for our family

was very accommodating for our family as everyone had their own space. while it was very comfortable and had some ware and made us a little more relaxed. due to the windy weather we use the pool and hot tub and glad we had that option

Very Dirty

The house was pretty filthy when we checked in. There was still dried soap in the showers, dining table was sticky and not even wiped down. Floors needed swept and scrubbed. Dishwasher had dirty dishes in. Drapes in master bedroom are shredded and give no privacy. The living room and game room furniture are stained and smell. Very disappointed for the price we paid.

Playa-N_Waves Stay

The size and location of the property were just right for our party. The house had a lot of deferred maintenance that needed to be done - there were missing toilet paper holders in the bathrooms, towel racks that had been taken down and walls patched, but no place to hang the towels. We did have to call the realty company to have someone come and unclog one of the bathrooms - which they did the next day. We weren't given enough towels and when I requested more we got no answer and so were short 4 towels. The pool was lovely and the walk to the beach was an easy one. We enjoyed the great room upstairs and had room for the entire 16 of us . So the house was adequate and if the HVAC vents and fans had been cleaned sometime this season, the house would present itself much better. Mixed review here.

Vacation in October

The property was awesome! Very spacious and lots of things to do for anyone in your party. A lot of things closed this time of year, but having the full house was the best for the best relaxing vacation ever of doing a lot of resting!
