"Waking up to the sounds of the beach is amazing! Just a short walk down through their beautiful garden with a resident sloth is the black sand and warm waves. The room was quite comfortable. The bathroom could use a couple more hooks for wet items since things take a while to dry. The property managers are extremely responsive to any concerns and very welcoming!"

"Club Puerto Viejo was amazing. Having access to a pool and other relaxing spaces is what my family needed. We loved the outdoor lounge and kitchen areas. The rooms were great too and usually cooled off at night. We also enjoyed being close to the beach and great places to eat. Those looking for rest and relaxation will love this place!!"

"We loved our stay at Las Casas - it was our own slice of paradise. The pictures don’t do it justice. One thing to note there is no games room or yoga deck but we didn’t mind as we had more space than we knew what to do with. There were so many wild animals passing through we were in heaven and the staff couldn’t have been better. Hoping we can return again one day."

"We had a great time staying at Gecko's lodge. Tine and Rene were very welcoming and made our stay really enjoyable. We loved the treehouse and the open air concept that gave us a really neat experience in the rainforest setting. We were able to see monkeys, sloths, frogs, birds and many other animals all in their natural habitat, right from the deck of the house and walking through the garden. "My partner and I spent two weeks in Costa Rica, with the first week at Villa Serenity with our moms. The house was clean, beautiful, and safe, with an indoor/outdoor experience (if you're a light sleeper, pack a blackout sleep mask & earplugs; even the sounds of nature can be overwhelming if you aren't used to it). "We had the most amazing stay at the zen villa. The home has all the supplies that you need in case you grab groceries to cook. We enjoyed every minute on the pool deck and on the beach located down the pathway. The bed is comfy, and the grounds are beautiful. Just note, there isn’t AC in the house except in the bedrooms. There are some great restaurants located right across the street from the property in case you need a chill day and don’t want to travel in town."

"The primary reason to stay in this casita is the location and the stunning views. The garden is beautiful with a path that opens to La Playa Negra. The beach is quiet and private and absolutely breathtaking. We were able to spot the sloth in the garden on a few occasions and had an up close view of him moving once which was very special. As previously mentioned in reviews, there was a bottle of wine and chocolate waiting for us. We were met to check in and get acclimated to the environment....

"This place is impossible to explain. You have to be there to know how magical it is. The wildlife is so dense it could be scary for some people. The big tree has about a hundred Oropendola nests in it, and a Green Macaw nest. The tree next to it has a pair of Bat Falcons nesting in it. The first night we were there we heard big cats in the woods real close to the house. We also saw a couple of snake species, and more beautiful poison dart frogs than we could count. "Based on previous reviews, I booked! I did not receive the warm welcome others spoke about. I made several inquiries to the host weeks before my arrival, only receiving a reply the day I was in route to the area. When flying to another country it's common to ask for the location information prior to your arrival. This helps to make transportation arrangements. Pros: 1. Accommodations were very clean and property was secured. 2. We received 2 beach towels on arrival. 3. Close to Hotel Banana...
