"The hotel was in a great part of Edinburgh making it easy to walk places. We loved how the building fit in with old Edinburgh. The breakfast was delicious. Being able to store our luggage between checkout and when we caught the train gave us an extra half day in town. We definitely recommend to anyone planning a stay in beautiful Edinburgh, Scotland. "

Unfortunately the live act that was on was singing IRA Support songs and when my partner objected and complained we were asked to leave the bar. The singer did admit that he was wrong and had caused us being told to leave"

"This property is so fun! Your room is above a really cool, esthetic vintage bar. We had the top room and it was pretty big. You couldn’t hear any of the people downstairs just the delivery people and trash collectors, outside. The views from the windows look out to a big ship/restaurant. It’s also a stones throw from the train station. "

There are several uneven, steep steps walking up to the cottage so I wouldn’t recommend it to people who are unsteady on their feet. The owners left some biscuits and milk on the fridge which was a nice gesture. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future when visiting Whitby."

"Amazing location and friendly staff. It’s going through a refurb and the lift is currently out of order but they warned us before hand and offered to help with luggage! The hotel is so quaint and the room was perfect for us (family room)!Our room had an amazing view of the abbey! Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. We had Sunday lunch in the restaurant and that was amazing!! 0% alcohol on tap which is amazing (I’m alcohol free and normally stuck with bottles).Planning on many more trips...

We have had a great time. Very steep stairs inside the property and a fairly short bed so if you are super tall with mobility problems it might be difficult but for us it was perfect."

"Excellent location within walking distance of the railway and bus station, easy access to all parts of Whitby. Nice touch by the owners leaving some milk in the fridge. Large Coop store next to the station if you need any supplies. Would definitely stay here again."

"The room was great for our needs, very spacious with comfortable beds and a large bathroom. I was holidaying with my teenage granddaughter and the twin beds gave us plenty of room.
It was about a 10 minute walk to the harbour (anout 30 minutes to walk back, it's a very steep hill! Dont believe google maps that says mostly flat!)
There is a bus stop outside the hotel but we didn't use it. However, on our last evenung we had a taxi and it was £4.50."

"We have stayed at the Wilson Arms a few times now and its never disappointing, its dog friendly, with great staff/owners and the food is superb. shout out to the chef :-) . The rooms are always comfy and clean. We do events in Whitby and this is a great stay over for us. See you again soon. "

"The Wilson Inn is a lovely pub and restaurant with really comfortable rooms and decor. We stayed for 2 nights and everything was so clean including the modern bathroom . Staff were friendly and meals were excellent including the breakfast. Only a couple of miles from Whitby and lots of other places of interest, including the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway and Goathland. Would definitely recommend."

Location is nice and central and ideal to explore the local coastline. Really felt like a home from home. Will definitely use again and cannot recommend enough. "
