"This place doesn't even feel real. Raw, untouched, pristine nature. The Chumbe Island team have done a wonderful job with the hotel. It's an incredible experience to go to this place. "Incredibly historic building with unique individually decorated rooms! Perfect location for walking around Stonetown. Delicious breakfast served on rooftop! Request Belle room if you don't want a lot of stairs. It has a huge balcony along the front of the building so it's fun to see tourists stop and take photos!"

"This is a lovely hotel, very comfortable bed, convenient location in Stone Town. The staff is very nice. However, we will never stay there again as we had major security problems. Items of ours were hidden so the staff could keep them once we left (we found my husband's had, lost my $80 sandals which were not in my suitcase at the next stop. Much worse, all the credit cards in my wallet were photographed and $20,000 charges attempted, which results in ALL my cards being cancelled. I would...

"We are currently cycling around the world ( from Australia) The staff were wonderful and did an amazing job helping us to pack our bikes for our flight. A big shout out to Asha and Gift for everything! The rooms were quiet and beds comfy. A bit challenging to work out light switches though. The swimming pool was huge ! Just a quick mention that there’s no bar at the hotel so we got a taxi into stone town which wasn’t a problem for us. "

"The pier is no longer there, it should nto be the first pciture of the hotel. Overall, people were absolutly lovely with us! Their electricity generator always work (and that is a BIG PLUS in Zanzibar) Rooms are a bit old but according to the pictures. Thank you ! we have a good time in your hotel. We were so happy to have some doggies around, kittens, even a MONKEY ! The hotel has many beautiful spots for pictures! "

"The property is decent, however, the road to get there is really bad. The staff are great!"

"I loved the charm of the old building. Breakfast was included and was very good. The famous Lukmaan restaurant is right around the corner. There is a mosque across the alley, so you will hear the call to prayer unless you’re a heavy sleeper. There is also street noise but it usually gets quieter the later it gets. There is no parking. Make sure the taxi driver points out the building because it’s very nondescript. Overall a great place to stay. "

"Passamos apenas uma pernoite e é suficiente para quem quer conhecer Stone Town. Fica bem no meio do bairro. Devido à essa localização, pedir ajuda para taxista ou guia para chegar nele."

"Stone Town is over rated. The area is dirty, the buildings' facades are falling apart. The public parks and beaches are mostly dirty, with garbage everywhere. I wouldn't suggest to stay there. Better stay some where else in Zanzibar and just spend one morning walking around Stone Town. The hotel air condioner was really noisy, the pillows uncomfortable. Could improve in several things. "
