Secluded Getaway at Wayward Cottage

Located at Gorham's Bluff in Pisgah, enjoy what this 1-bedroom cottage has to offer. This adorable property features a cozy atmosphere that will make guests feel right at home. With 1 queen bed and loft upstairs with 2 twin beds, it's perfect for a small group or family. The cottage boasts excellent amenities such as AC, heating, iron, WiFi, washer/dryer, and a hair dryer. The 2 bathrooms are equipped with everything you need, including a hair dryer and a shower. Whether you're exploring the charming city or simply relaxing in the comfort of the cottage, you're sure to make fantastic memories with a stay at our place.

The space
This cute cottage may be small inside but there is a porch upstairs as well as a porch out back with a hot tub where you can relax and enjoy the great outdoors while sip your sweet tea or have morning coffee and enjoy the view. Inside, enjoy watch an old movie or favorite show on the smart TV. A full kitchen is equipped to make all meals or investigate the many little towns around Pisgah or (Scottsboro which is 30 mins away) to eat. Outside, there are hiking and biking trails all around Gorham’s Bluff. A community pool is just next door and during the summer months it’s open until 8:00 pm. A children’s playground for the little ones to play on is located right outside the iron fence of the pool cabana. Enjoy some peace and quiet from your noisy, busy life, up here on the mountain.

NOTE: Please note that the gas fireplaces are non-operational at this time.

Guest access
You would have access to the entire cottage and outdoor space. There is a gas grill, washer and dryer for your convenience. There is a hiking trail along the bluff edge for taking a sunset walk.

There is information on the table with a listing of restaurants, churches in the area, things to do in the area and instructions regarding the cottage.

There are several things to do around Gorham's Bluff, whether you're up for an adventure, or prefer to lazily take in the area: Henagar Drive-In Movie Theater, Walls of Jericho hiking trail, Scottsboro Unclaimed Baggage Center (similar to a fancy version of a thrift store comprised of unclaimed items from travelers) Buck’s Pocket State Park, Cathedral Caverns State Park, Little River Canyon National Preserve, Pisgah Gorge, Russell Cave National Monument, Sauta Cave National Wildlife Refuge, Stephen’s Gap Cave, etc. Day trips are a breeze when you're staying at Wayward Cottage as Mentone, Alabama and Chattanooga are less than an hour's drive away.

Great place for families with children in summer or peaceful get away prior to pool opening. Stayed Tuesday night departed Friday am. Very quiet and peaceful stay. Twenty five to thirty minutes to Scottsboro. Quality construction and eye for details.

Gorhams bluff is a very interesting area. It's tucked back in a secluded commune kind of village that seems clean and well maintained. This house is quite beautiful. Already booked a return visit.

We stayed here for all the close hiking in the area. We didn’t know how amazing the views would be walking around this neat secluded, relaxing community. The hot tub was awesome. Kitchen came with needed things to prepare meals, the outside gas grill was in great shape. Highly recommend this place, and would stay here again.

Cabin so quaint and cozy, plenty of room for all and extra things like ninja blender also available. Hot tub was so relaxing, neighbors were quiet. Loved our stay there. Thanks for a memorable weekend.

We love Wayward cottage! This was our first stay with the new owners and it was flawless. Beautiful cottage, well stocked, and the pool & hot tub are so convenient. We always look forward to our next visit.

My 12 year old daughter and I wanted a little getaway to hang out and relax. We chose WEyward Cottage for is close easy drive to Unclaimed Baggage for a little shopping on Saturday but we also chose for the community pool to lounge at. It was all we wanted and more. We fell in love with the GEM that is Gorham Bluff. The charming houses and the southern charm and village vibes. We loved the views of the river and hills. Just a great place to getaway that was a quick 6 hour drive from Indiana. I have already spread the word to family that they should go check this place out. We will likely be back soon. The cottage itself has plenty of room and was so comfortable with all amenities we needed.
