Welcome to Codies Outpost, your PET FRIENDLY getaway! This is a three bedroom, three bathroom cabin located conveniently to all the excitement in the Smoky Mountains! There is so much to do for family fun here after a long day of exploring! In the main living room, you have gaming systems with games. There is a seasonal fireplace operational from Oct - Mar. Downstairs, you have a lego wall, pool table, and an arcade system! Unwind in the hot tub on the back deck, the perfect way to relax after a day of adventure. Corn hole is available for family fun as well! There is a charcoal grill for all your grillin' needs.

There is enough parking for three vehicles at this property. This is a shared driveway that splits into a Y. We highly recommend AWD or 4WD during the winter months for this driveway.

*Pet friendly info - This is a mountain property, and does not have a yard full of grass. This lot is mostly wooded. No breed or size restrictions, $75 per dog up to 2. Guests are required to clean up after their pets outside.*

We pay stayed one night but everything was clean, the beds were comfortable and the kids thoroughly enjoyed all the activities while the adults thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub :)

It was a nice place just lacked cleanliness. Dusty, dishes was dirty, and the bathroom floor felt like it was about to cave in. Not very toddler friendly. The railing on loft is dangerous for a toddler, but it’s great location and everything else is good.

We had no water for the first day as they forgot to turn it on. We have stayed in several cabins and have never experienced what we experienced in this home. As soon as the lights go out and its quiet ALL you hear is rats running in the walls. Above, below all around you. Secon morning my sister woke up to a rodent in her bed which got away and we later found again and trapped. Next night same issue. Half the group had to leave early as the kids were terrified to sleep. Home is beautiful and looks exactly as listed. However, no propane to use outdoor grills, and the critter issue was the topping on the cake. No refund of any kind was offered. I understand were in the woods but the home is infested.

The property was listed as being close to attractions in Pigeon Forge. What wasn’t listed was the twists and turns of the road getting to the cabin. Once you got to the cabin if you didn’t already have your GPS on, you were out of luck, no cellphone reception. Also, the cabin did not have a sign or street address visible at the bottom of the hill. The cabin its self is in need of updating. One major thing for us was the lack of window curtains! I know we are back in the mountains, but still curtains in the bathroom is a must. The cabin was clean enough, but definitely needs a deep cleaning. Cobwebs on the lights and decor. Once we checked in we found the hot tub was not working. We called the owners and they sent the cleaning manager out to help us. She had it working within 30 minutes of being there, something under the house had been turned off. Later we realized why, with the hot tub being on it heated up the basement bedroom and caused an electrical smell. The daughter and her husband couldn’t sleep be it was so hot in the basement bedroom. We also noticed that the outside of the door coming from the hot tub looked like at some point, someone had tried to break in the house. It made us feel uneasy about staying there. As for the safety issues, the upstairs railings will not stop a fall. We had our dogs with us and we were afraid for them to go upstairs because there was nothing from stopping them from falling. Also, the hearth was missing pieces! Someone could get cut.

The cabin was good and did support all 10 of us. The cabin is starting to show its age and there was a bit of a musty smell. We enjoyed that the location which was fast easy access to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg! Hot tub! Host interaction was good and supportive to our needs.

It was a nice family and dog friendly cabin. The key pad was broken when we tried to check in and maintenance had to be called. The grill was unusable and the coffee maker didn’t work. My boys were disappointed that the game stations did not work along with the tv in the living room. The hot tub was great and everyone enjoyed playing pool. Nice that everyone had their own room and bathroom and very accommodating for your pets.

Overall it was an awesome first experience in Tennessee, however the grill lid didnt fit the grill, the grate sank so far into the grill and kept slanting that it was actually hard to grill, no remote for the tv by the hot tub they did order one and had delivered via Instacart which was cool but after an hour we still couldnt connect it to the tv. The hot tub smelled of fish quite badly which was kind of off putting. Little things that could have made the experience that much better such as the propane for the table fire pit being out as well!! Still loved the cabin and everything it did have to offer!!

Missing window coverings, broken furniture and open electrical connections

Master bedroom and bathroom have no window coverings so we had to use towels to cover them. Master window lock is broken so they could run a wire through it so anyone can come up and open the window and climb in. Couch in the living room is broken and they have put cushions below the main cushion to try and prop it up. There are several wire splices and uncovered junction boxes. Ultimately we just used the place for a place to sleep while enjoying pigeon forge. But a little effort on the host part would go a long way.

Secluded Stay Near Dollywood

Our family enjoyed our stay at Codie’s Outpost. Lots of room and amenities! The dog run made things so much easier, too! Would recommend, especially if you want to stay at a family-friendly cabin near Dollywood. Thanks for having us!

Weekend at Codies

very attentive owner who touched base after our arrival to see what we thought of the house. any questions/concerns were met with quick response. owner and property management company were great to work with. was hoping to see a little wildlife but only saw birds, squirrels and one rabbit, but that was out of everyone's control. exterior needed a little attention. great location and peaceful except for 4-wheelers nearby. comfy beds, well-stocked kitchen equipment, room for 2 toddlers to play. we normally prefer to stay in Gatlinburg but really enjoyed Codie's Outpost. will definitely stay there again!
