Casina del Monte is a restored ancient tower, 40 square metres on two floors for two guests, in Monte a Pescia (Pistoia), in Tuscan Valdinievole. Authentic style with exposed stone walls, brick arches, black wrought-iron spiral staircase, dark parquet in the upstairs bedroom, yellow vintage fridge and bathroom with turquoise-azure mosaic walls. Accommodates 2 guests. Small dog welcome with specific rules.

Bedroom and bathroom

Master bedroom on the upper floor with king-size bed, white wrought-iron headboard with scroll work, coordinated water-green shabby chic furniture (wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables), antique chairs with ochre velvet, dark parquet floor, two windows with voile curtains. Refined bathroom with iridescent turquoise-azure mosaic walls, glass-door shower, WC, bidet, washbasin, washing machine in a niche, towels provided.

Kitchen and living area

Open-space living area on the ground floor with exceptional exposed ancient stone wall, brick-faced kitchen counter with dark solid wood top, natural-fabric sofa, column bookcase with encyclopaedias set between brick arches, light terracotta floor. Full equipped kitchen with gas cooker and integrated oven in black enamel, sink, yellow vintage fridge, copper pots, coffee maker and kettle.

Private outdoor area and access

Stone patio in front of the entrance with wrought-iron pergola, climbing jasmine, centuries-old olive trees, dining table for four, sun lounger. Tower facade in warm ochre with dark green shutters. Self check-in with key-box. Two-storey house with wrought-iron spiral staircase: not suitable for people with reduced mobility. Loading/unloading by car up to the house, longer parking in public spaces in the village a short distance away.

Monte a Pescia, hilltop hamlet of Pescia (Pistoia), in Valdinievole. 5.6 km from the historic centre of Pescia (15 min by car), 6 km from the Pinocchio Park in Collodi (10 min), 15 km from Montecatini Terme (20 min), 35 km from Lucca (40 min), 60 km from Pisa with airport (45 min), 70 km from Florence (1 hour), 50 km from the Versilia beaches (50 min). Pescia railway station 15 minutes by car.

Visit the Pinocchio Park in Collodi with the Historic Garzoni Garden and the Butterfly House. Explore the Pescian Switzerland and its ten medieval villages (Pietrabuona, Castelvecchio, Pontito, Sorana, Vellano and others), with the possibility of six-hour trekking along the Pescia stream. In Sorana taste the IGP bean, "musicians' bean" loved by Puccini, Rossini and Garibaldi. Spend a day in Lucca between Renaissance walls, Torre Guinigi and Via Fillungo. Wellness in Montecatini Terme with the historic funicular to Montecatini Alto.

Central heating available throughout the house: in the winter period a surcharge of 10 euros per night applies for consumption, to be paid before the start of the stay. Minimum stay one night. Maximum capacity two guests. Apartment open all year. One small dog (up to 10 kg, 35 cm at the withers) allowed with specific rules: not on beds and sofas, must be used to interaction with other dogs (the owners live nearby and have one). Parties not allowed. No smoking indoors. Mandatory waste sorting via street containers: 100-euro municipal fine in case of non-compliance.
