Character Cottage with fabulous mountain views in the North Lakes District

  • Stay at Erika's Cottage in a great location in the Lake District National Park with fantastic views of Blencathra, and the Mungrisedale Fells and the Dodds and Helvellyn Range to the south. This characterful one-bedroom cottage sits next to a private woodland where you may catch sight of the resident red squirrels and enjoy watching the other wildlife such as pheasants, birds of prey, woodpecker and stoats.

    The cosy living room has wifi, 4K Ultra HD Smart TV and Nest Thermostat so that you can control your cottage temperature.

    Erika's Cottage sits in a fantastic position to explore the Lake District with Ullswater only 6 miles away with its lakeside villages of Pooley Bridge and Glenridding; Keswick and Derwentwater are only 12 minutes drive away, and there is easy access to the rest of the Lake District.

    There are plenty of welcoming pubs in the area and the nearest the Troutbeck Inn is just 1 mile away in Troutbeck Village; there is also a great farm shop 3 miles away on the A66.

    The cottage is for a maximum of 2 people and well-behaved dogs are very welcome (small pet fee).

Erika's Cottage is a neat, well-equipped little cottage for two in the northeastern Lake District. A large picture window has a spectacular view of Blencathra, one of the top-ten mountains in the Lakes and a good energetic hike. If visiting this part of the Lake District in the future we will certainly try to rent Erika's Cottage again.

A lovely, well appointed cottage in The Lake District. Spectacular view and easy access to the Motorway, Penrith and Keswick. A perfect spot with possible pheasant sightings! Highly recommend a stay at Pete and Debbie's Erika's Cottage.

It was very clean, pet friendly. The scenery was beautiful. I would definitely recommend the cottage. My particular health needs were also taken into consideration.

A comfortable cottage perfectly located. Quiet and rural feeling yet accessible to Keswick. Ideal for walking the fells and also mooching the shops and restaurants in Keswick, Basecamp etc. The cottage was cosy and well equipped, perfect to come back to after a day out exploring.

The cottage had everything I needed and more, it was a very comfortable stay. The views of blencathra were stunning.

The view from the living room was amazing topped only by the frequent sightings of red squirrels running past the window. It was very quiet and secluded. The only minor quibbles were finding anything on the tv (I think the aerial cable needs replacing and we couldn't get Prime or Netflix at all) and the heating control which seemed to have a mind of its own

Lovely cottage, all cleaning products provided, very comfortable bed . Heating first class and shower was great. View was AMAZING. Park to the side of the cottage to avoid bird poop

Lovely cottage, idea base for walking in the Lakes. We stayed in February, with snow on the ground. The view of Blencathra is stunning and the heating in the cottage made us feel very cosy.

Amazing cottage with the most spectacular views. The property itself was very well stocked with everything you may need for a relaxing stay; kitchen is perfect with plenty of crockery, pots and pans etc. The bedroom is so relaxing... had the best nights' sleep in the super comfy bed; and the lounge area too... very comfortable, warm and cosy with the most amazing views. We loved our stay at this cottage and did some wonderful walks locally. I can recommend the farm shop up the road... very tasty local produce; meat, cakes and lovely gifts too. All in all, this was a perfectly relaxing 3 day break, and we will definitely return.

Very clean inside and welcoming cottage. Lovely mountain few from the main cottage window and beautiful surrounding area.A possible suggestion though is to have a car port outside the cottage as our car got covered in bird poo during our 3 night stay due to where the parking facility is for the cottage.About 15 minutes drive away from Keswick which is very handy too. Would highly recommend The Kingfisher in Keswick if you like fish and chips! Delicious and very reasonably priced!
