The room was as described: very small, but it included a kitchen unit and a reasonably spacious bathroom. The aparthotel is in an excellent location, close to several bus stops and metro lines, and the layout makes good use of the limited space.
Our room was on the 2nd floor and unfortunately very dark, as it looked out onto a patio rather than a described a courtyard. This was made worse by scaffolding on the building opposite (thankfully, no work was taking place). I imagine rooms on higher floors — 5th or 6th — would get much more natural light.
Reception is only available on weekdays, which means there is no option to store bags if you arrive before check-in. At check-in, you must either pay a non-refundable damage fee of €30 or a refundable deposit of €300 — something I don’t recall being mentioned clearly in the booking description.
There is no regular cleaning service (though we were kindly offered one during our week-long stay). You’ll also need to request additional supplies such as toilet paper or bin bags.
Some downsides: we could hear the metro running beneath the building; the corridor between the exterior and interior apartments had a strange smell (possibly from the rope used as a bannister); and the fresh towels and bed linen had a faint mildew odor. A few extra wall hooks would also be helpful, as the storage provided is limited.
