"We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer had we had the time. The cottage and property were absolutely beautiful, offered everything we needed, and Laurel was a lovely hostess. The breakfast with fresh fruit grown on site was a perfect way to get acquainted with Hawaii. We had to google what some of the fruit was and how to eat them. So much fun, and super fresh and delicious. Great experience!"

"Great location. We wanted seclusion and it did not disappoint. I see some reviews complaining about the road to the house but that is what I loved. The connecting road is a little steep and bumpy but to get away from the crowds or tourists' areas, I can put up with a little rough road. We rented a Jeep because we planned on going to hard-to-reach beaches, etc., and did not have any problems. I do have to mention that the description of the property is not correct on the Vrbo page. "We had great directions and notes left by host which made finding the cabin easy with little cell reception.We got there a little early and enjoyed the grounds, hiking and checking out the river and waterfalls.The host found us on the property and let us know our cabin was ready for early check in which was great and very accommodating because we got a nap in before going to our event we had to attend.Very helpful and responsive. The screened-in lanai is airy with ceiling fans and you will enjoy every spare moment out there or even a nap. Spacious well equipped kitchen and brand new appliances throughout. "Everything was present as advertised, and the spa facilities were a nice addition to the house, considering there is no nearby beach access, although maybe not quite as high-end as one may expect based on other spa experiences. "House as described, Dannie is a wonderful host and always reachable. She helped us with everything in our special situation, we will never forget her and Jessica. If you want a home away from the tourists you are right. Awaiting luxury and quietness, go in a hotel. It’s a normal neighborhood with chicken, dogs and everything else. We enjoyed it here, directly on the Hamakua coast line. Thanks for all, Dannie!"

"We did not get a chance to enjoy the pool but it was sparkling clean. We definitely enjoyed the FOUR dining areas; inside near kitchen, front porch and the grill out back by the pool was super clean and that table was a great place to relax. there was only one room with AC but PLENTY of fans (dont forget to check the closets!) and with the windows open it was very nice. There is also a public walking path to the cliffs right down the road and I highly recommend it. I would 100% stay here...
