"Great location. We wanted seclusion and it did not disappoint. I see some reviews complaining about the road to the house but that is what I loved. The connecting road is a little steep and bumpy but to get away from the crowds or tourists' areas, I can put up with a little rough road. We rented a Jeep because we planned on going to hard-to-reach beaches, etc., and did not have any problems. I do have to mention that the description of the property is not correct on the Vrbo page. "We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer had we had the time. The cottage and property were absolutely beautiful, offered everything we needed, and Laurel was a lovely hostess. The breakfast with fresh fruit grown on site was a perfect way to get acquainted with Hawaii. We had to google what some of the fruit was and how to eat them. So much fun, and super fresh and delicious. Great experience!"

"We had a great stay in Hilo. Mari was super helpful and called us to walk through the home’s specifics. Two families on the trip and the property accommodated us well with two levels, and beautiful ocean views from the deck and pool. We saw a dozen dolphins. The kitchen had many spices and condiments and all the cooking supplies. "

"The property was great! Very relaxing yet still had all the essentials. It was super fun walking the property and enjoying all the fresh fruit! Star gazing in the hot tub was also enjoyable. Overall we enjoyed our stay so much & had so much fun exploring the big island. Only downside is the closest beach is about a 20 minute drive and there is no AC so it can get warm during the day, but wasn’t a problem at night."
