Unexpectedly Close to Bourbon St
As other reviews have mentioned, we were notified by the host company a couple of days before our trip that we would be switched to a different property, owing to problems with the air conditioning at the actual "Playhouse" property. The property that we ultimately stayed in was wonderful. Located about half a block off of Bourbon Street, we were close to many of the tourist-y activities we had come to do, but did not have issues with street noise as we initially feared. There were five in our group, and we comfortably split between a king bed, two queen beds, and a couch pullout across two bedrooms. There was a third bedroom with two additional beds, but we deemed it unsafe and did not use it because of a significant amount of exposed structural elements and ductwork which required crouching to move around the room.The TV had cable, the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, and the bathrooms were all well-appointed, with three showers available (although one shower did not have hot water during our stay). There was even a one-car garage, though we did not have a vehicle.Overall, we had a great experience being within walking distance of the entire French Quarter, Canal Street, Frenchmen Street, Tchoupitoulas, and the WWII Museum. The hosts were helpful and prompt in their communications, and we'd recommend using My Southern Comfort to others.
