New Orleans Coastal Retreat

  • Located just 20 miles from the heart of the French Quarter on Historic Lake Catherine Island, this coastal retreat has it all. Enjoy the coastal breezes while on the elevated sun deck, screen porch, boat dock or private fishing pier. This Lake Home is well appointed with a completely stocked kitchen (4 different coffee makers!) and high-quality linens. We even provide the following: 6 fishing rods and tackle, crab traps, crab nets, ice chests, boiling equipment, canoe with paddles, 12 ft. johnboat, 2 inflatable/rigid stand-up paddleboards (SUP), and life jackets of all sizes. Bring your boat and dock in the private protected canal or book a charter and they can pick you up on the dock. Fish at night under the dock lights and use the wheeled wagon for hauling in your catch and freezing your filets in our dedicated fish freezer prior to your return. This place has it all! If you miss the magnificent sunrise in front, be sure to catch it set on the west side over Lake Pontchartrain. The perfect retreat for family and friends. Early check-in and/or check-out for a fee available upon request and availability.

Amazing place surrounded by so much wildlife. Loved seeing the alligators and all the various birds. Fishing and crabbing was really fun and seeing all the little fish was awesome, including a needlefish! Highly recommend and cannot wait to return.

We were there during a tropical storm. The owner checked on us numerous times to make sure we were ok. The house was better than expected ! We caught multiple blue crabs and fish. Looking forward to coming back!

The location was great and the house had everything we needed and then some. Family of 5 with kids age 16, 13, and 11. Wish we had stayed longer. Would definitely come back!

Our family enjoyed our week here very much. Lots of extras, we had a seafood boil, and caught many crabs and fish. The kids loved the bike. The home is comfy and we enjoyed sitting on the deck. I’m so thankful for the elevator to take our things up! We will be back

Excellent vacation spot for the family!

The family loved everything about this place! We will definitely return to stay at this house again! It was very clean, organized & had everything you could possibly need available to use! We Caught many fish & crabs right from the pier & even saw 3 alligators from the pier while night fishing!

Beautiful and fun stay

What an amazing stay! This property was not only beautiful but also fun! There was a lot to do here. We were able to fish off the dock and throw out some crab traps! We will definitely stay here again if visiting New Orleans!

Great Escape

Perfect spot for a family getaway. Beautiful quiet location with fishing, crabbing, and boating. The house had everything we needed. The owner was easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Amazing! We are Hooked for Sure! Such a peaceful and rejuvenating stay, exactly what we needed. The Location is perfect, close enough to the city but so awesome enjoying the beauty of Louisiana nature! All the Comforts of Home and Plenty of fun! Loved fishing, caught red fish, catfish, flounder, crab and saw alligators galore!

Excellent Family Memories Made

This place was absolutely perfect. The hospitality is over and above 10 out of 10!! Couldnt have asked for a better way to experience Louisiana and New Orleans. Perfect! Highly recommend!

Spring Break

Excellent contact with owner, any issues he fixed very promptly! Beautiful place, caught many crabs and a few fish, cooked our first seafood boil!! Everything you needed for an excellent trip!!

Beautiful

We loved our stay at this amazing house on Lake Catherine. The house is clean, nicely decorated, easy check in, and the kitchen is very stocked, We loved the screened in porch and the private dock (our first time using crab traps). The outside area is peaceful and the view goes on for miles. We made trips into New Orleans and the Slidell area with no issues. Would stay here again.

Lakeside escape

I can’t say enough good things about this property or the host! It was our second stay here and even though our trip was cut short by the hurricane it was still an amazing couple of days! The host was absolutely wonderful and stayed in touch about the weather and helped us through the process of having to leave early. We can’t thank him enough!
