"I had read the reviews about the steep stairs and thought they would be no problem. Think of them almost like boat stairs. Very difficult with luggage. I was scared the first time I saw them but my husband managed to get our luggage up and down being very careful (we only had carry on bags, so I would not recommend if you have large suitcases).

Every detail in the room is planned in such a way to transport you to another era. The only thing that is missing is a bit more lighting. An extra lamp perhaps, or less directional sconces…? The location is perfect, the breakfast delivered to the room each morning was delicious and beatifully served- and I was immensely grateful for the umbrelas that the hotel lent us...
