Banyan is a Royal Navy term meaning a short period of rest and relaxation and will be the perfect choice for your next family getaway!

This property is a free standing family home located only a stones throw to Wests Diggers Club, a short walk to Little Beach and to Nelson Bay CBD where you will find cafes and restaurants, boutique shopping or where you can enjoy a nice sunset over the water or swim at the beach. The same distace the other direction will bring you into Shoal Bay where you will find more cafes, restaurants and shopping or if you are the outdoors type , take advantage of the nearby walking trails, cycle ways or walk the spectacular Tomaree Headland.

This spacious home includes all the creature comforts like Wifi and air conditioning that will help make your next holiday as comfortable as possible. Featuring fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, air conditioned living and dining area, large balconies and a yard so you can bring the dog or cat with you as this property is also Pet Friendly. Come and let the whole family enjoy Banyan for your next holiday!

(f) intentionally, recklessly or negligently damage the personal property of neighbours of the premises or other occupants of a strata or community scheme.

This property is approved for holiday accommodation only, no extra bedding mattresses, tents, caravans or more cars than the property accommodates are allowed.

After hour emergency service is available 24/7 during your stay.

If you or any other guest receives a warning regarding excess noise or excess guests, you may be asked to leave the property immediately with no refund of monies.

The handrail on the back balcony and stairs leading to the backyard were rusty and looked dangerous. They definitely didn't feel safe.The fan in the second bedroom was dangerously oscillating when in function. The bed board on the king size bed was broken.The pedestal fan in the bunk bed room was not working.There was nowhere to unpack clothes only hanging space in the wardrobe no shelves which was very inconvenient had to bring a dining chair in the bedroom to place my clothes. Overall, with the fact that you have to make your own beds and all the defects i would definitely NOT make another booking at this property l, not worth the money. I do not recommend, there are hundreds of other properties that provide much better value and service.

Very comfortable house with good amenities. Only real issue we had was the barbecue was unusable, old and dirty. Airconditioning needs the fan speed to increase as it struggles on a hot day. Wi Fi was not the best. Would definitely stay there again W

Our home away from home!

We have returned to this house several times over the years. It has a very comfortable openness to it. Definitely highly recommended for short or longer stay. Pet friendly which our dogs just love.

A surprise

The property is close to shops and amenities its very centrally located. However the back yard is not particularly pet friendly . Very steep steps at the back a bit treacherous. Hole in the fence and needs rubbish removing. Not for small dog.

Spacious house

House is nice and spacious, and we loved that we could bring our dog :) Our favourite parts: - lots of space, would be fine for a couple of families together with kids. House was probably a bit too big for just the 3 of us and our dog :) - that it was dog friendly - only a few minutes drive to the town centre, the sea, all attractions and local supermarket - dining room has a beautiful outlook with lots of trees and sunset colours - the listing stays that you have to provide your own dishwashing liquid, laundry powder etc. so we expected that, but didn't actually need to have worried as the estate agent provided samples of everything including a sponge, instant coffee, tea bags, sugar sachets.. and there were also some staples in the pantry. Also had some board games, puzzles, lots of books and DVDs. - a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer are always appreciated. TVs in the living room and in 2 of the bedrooms. Negatives: - the first 2 pictures on the listing are misleading as the beachfront is a 15min walk. Seeing the pics (it doesn't say "location shot" like other pics I expected the sea to be closer). - cleaning wasn't great, we found hair in the bathroom, cobwebs on the ceiling and a spider in the bedroom. We hired the linen for $60 for 2 beds (it is provided in a bag and you have to make your own beds with it) but seeing the colour and state of the pillows, mattresses and mattress protectors that had many stains, I wished we'd brought our own pillows at least! - house was cold, even with all of their little provided fan heaters on, we couldn't warm it up enough to feel cosy. It is the middle of winter though. - backyard is hard to access as long staircase so not ideal for our dog who has a sore leg, our toddler, or even myself who is heavily pregnant. We ended up taking our dog to the street instead to pee, to avoid the stairs and didn't use the backyard.

Excellent accommodation

The property was excellent, especially for a family, as is fairly large. Lovely location, especially for walking everywhere. There were issues with door locks which got sorted after arrival, as did heating which was necessary. Highly recommend this property!

Relaxing Holiday

Our family enjoyed the tree top views from the beautiful sunny aspect of the dining area. Spacious living areas and a good working kitchen. The location is convenient. The very long and steep stairs to access backyard for pooch is problematic for the elderly or infirm.

Hi 👋 My Wife and I plus 4 Grandchildren +1 spoilt Shihtzu have just spent 4 loverly nights. Must say the house was great 👍,spacious,well appointed and great value for money.would highly recommended. If there was 1 down side for elderly folk like us the climb up from the back yard was hard work 😓 after taking our Taffy to the toilet 🚽.the bedding and decor and facilities were great
