"Great location, 20 min drive Southampton and from New Forest for walks. Lovely old pub, beautifully clean and welcoming. We ate in the garden and enjoyed our Caesar salad and burgers. Accommodation is in separate thatched building to one side of the pub and was quiet. Twin room (2 single beds) was huge with large walk-in shower. I booked a family room for five of us (3 kids) - which in itself is unusual to be able to fit 5 in one room! - when we were visiting Paulton Park. "Daisybank cottage is a must for anyone looking to stay in the New Forest. The room was perfect - spacious, spotless and huge fluffy towels in the bathroom. Lovely touches in the room and so thoughtful. Great breakfast and friendly welcome. Its perfect for various walks without the car to get to start points, and close to pubs and eateries nearby. "We have stayed in the Crown several times so were happy to re visit whilst touring the New Forest in ideal location. Helpful, cheerful staff made us welcome . Nothing to much trouble We declined an evening meal in hotel as we were meeting friends in town but breakfast was excellent wide choice available. "Lovely room but bath with shower not suitable as sloped ceiling stopped from using shower head and couldn’t stand up in bath so being elderly. Had superior room so disappointed. Breakfast was lovely as was staff"

"This is a 15th Century building with the stable block converted into accommodation. The room we occupied was very large with all the usual amenities, pristine clean with a huge comfortable bed. The breakfast menu was comprehensive as was the dinner menu. My only suggestion is that a help yourself coffee and tea facility would enhance its facilities.Excellent hotel at the price."

"The hotel lovely & is in a lovely area with nice grounds & staff were very helpful & friendly. But… Being a cancer patient I get very hot & cold so always book a room with air conditioning ( we even have it home !) The air conditioning in the room was being refurbished & I was not told this until I couldn’t find the remote control. We had a fan & had to leave the window open so not a good sleep due to noise outside & being hot. So we went to the spa, pool was to cold for me so Hot tub it was.....

"Lovely hotel , restaurant service was very slow , we waited nearly 30 minutes for our drinks . It also annoys me how they now try and automatically add service charge to the room charge , I politely challenged this and was told that this has been introduced as the staff all earn a minimum wage .Note to hotel owners, pay your staff a decent wage !"
