"Convenience, quiet "

"This is not a place for outsiders. All of the other guests in the (tiny) bunks were poor Indian men on their way to be, say, a guest laborer somewhere (one man showed me his visa to Ghana). Anyway, it was awkward AF, so I powered through a couple nights and then moved next-door to the Afra hostel — still pretty much a local place, but MUCH better, and I even made some new good friends there. Actual showers, a few western toilets, a men's wing, a woman's wing, and a mixed dorm, no hangout space,...

"A great stay with just a few hiccups. Sharing a room with my mom made the glass-walled washroom awkward, and the lack of hooks was annoying. Breakfast could use better signage—we only found out you could order eggs and dosas by spotting them at another table. That aside, everything else was top-notch.
