This fully renovated and beautifully decorated Craftsman-style cottage offers a cozy mountain retreat, perfectly located on historic Main Street in downtown Mt. Shasta. Whether you're here for a weekend getaway or an extended stay, our cottage provides comfort, charm, and convenience.

Licensing & Inspections: This property is fully licensed by the City of Mt. Shasta (Permit Number: STR-004220), regularly inspected to ensure it meets city codes, and is fully insured as a vacation rental. It has never been owner-occupied, ensuring you a clean and welcoming environment.

Top-Notch Cleanliness: We take great pride in maintaining a spotless property, offering professional cleaning services. The cottage is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected for your safety.

Comfort Year-Round: The cottage features central heating and air conditioning to keep you comfortable throughout the seasons. During winter months, you can also enjoy the cozy ambiance of the wood-burning stove, with firewood and kindling provided.

Entertainment: Stay connected with super-fast, reliable fiber optic internet, and enjoy streaming on the 72-inch Sony SMART TV.

Private Parking & Snow Removal: Off-street parking is available for multiple vehicles, including space for a boat or trailer.
When snowing , the city does not allow street parking due to snow removal trucks - CARS WILL BE TOWED BY THE CITY IF PARKED ON MAIN ST....PLEASE PARK IN THE DRIVEWAY.
Tip: If it snows, its best to park at the beginning of the driveway, so it’s easier to reverse onto the street that is always snow plowed by the city. If needed, snow shovels are provided on the porch.

Pet-Friendly: We welcome pets with a small pet fee $75.00. Pet approval is at our discretion. Never leave pet unattended in cottage unless crated. Please keep pets off furniture and bedding, and remove pet waste from the yard before check-out.

The Cottage:
This cozy home features a charming blend of mountain décor and modern amenities. Enjoy hardwood floors, a fully equipped kitchen, and spacious living areas. The two bedrooms sleep up to 5 guests, with 2 high-quality queen beds (one with a 12-inch memory foam mattress) and 1 twin bed. The living room offers comfortable seating, including a Lazyboy recliner and leather couches, with a Sony 72-inch SMART TV for your enjoyment.

Outdoor Spaces:
Relax in the private, fenced-in front and backyards, ideal for pets and children. The picnic area, BBQ, and table offer the perfect setting for outdoor meals or simply unwinding in the fresh mountain air. The front porch provides a serene spot to watch the world go by.

Location:
Our cottage is just a short walk from downtown, where you’ll find excellent restaurants, coffee shops, boutique stores, organic markets, and spas. If you prefer outdoor adventure, Lake Siskiyou is a 5-minute drive, Ski Park is 20 minutes away, and Ashland, Oregon, is just 50 minutes. Endless bike routes and fishing opportunities are nearby, making it the ideal base for mountain lovers.

Additional Details:

Sleeping Arrangements: 2 Bedrooms with 2 queen beds (one memory foam, one pillow-top) and 1 twin bed, all with high-quality mattresses.

Living Room: Comfortable Lazyboy recliners and leather couches, 72-inch SMART TV, and DVD player for indoor entertainment.

Laundry: On-site washer and dryer (laundry soap not provided).

Parking: Off-street parking for multiple vehicles, including room for a trailer or boat.

Security: Security camera located on the driveway for your peace of mind.

Snow Removal Notice:
During snowy conditions, please be aware that street parking is prohibited due to snow removal regulations. Vehicles parked on Main Street will be towed by the city. To ensure easy access, we recommend parking at the beginning of the driveway, which leads to a snow-plowed street.

Cute and Cozy

This house was a fantastic, charming home. It was super clean and comfy and perfect for our small group and 2 little dogs. I loved the private fenced-in backyard area. Plenty of shade to sit out there with our dogs when it got really warm. It was a great location to explore Mount Shasta since it was within walking distance of the main downtown area as well as their local food coop. I would definitely book this place again in the future.

Great Getaway to Shasta!

My girlfriends and I had a wonderful stay at the house. It was conveniently located to restaurants and activities. The kitchen was well equipped for our stay too. We ended up ordering food in both nights because it was more fun to hangout at the house than go out. Beds were super comfortable and the fireplace was great. I highly recommend this house.

Another awesome stay

2nd trip to Shasta and stayed in the Whitney Cottage again. Everything is so homey and the cottage has everything you will need for a wonderful and comfortable stay. The host is awesome and is very quick to respond if you have a question. There is a wonderful notebook there with information on anything you might want to do in Shasta. The hiking information is particularly comprehensive. I'll definitely be back.

3rd Stay

We've stayed at this property 3 times now and we keep returning because it's perfect for our small family of four. It's within walking distance of downtown restaurants regardless of weather, it's an easy drive up to the ski resort, it has an open floor plan which makes the small footprint feel larger, and we even used the wood burning stove for the first time to help dry gloves (not on, but near). Beds are a bit soft but that's the only quibble. Kids love the big screen TV and always look forward to just crashing on the couch watching Grizzly and the Lemmings until we make them turn it off and play games at the generous wood table in the dining room.

Shasta Burthday Stay

We met our son and grandchildren at this beautiful cottage situated right in town and near everything. There was ample parking for two trucks and although there was a lot of snow the driveway was plowed as well as a pathway to the front stairs and entrance. The inside was decorated so beautifully, with plenty of space for the 5 of us and two dogs. The cottage had everything we needed for cooking bathing and entertainment. We will book again in the future.

Whitney Cottage Getaway

This lovely cottage was even better than advertised. Warm, cozy, inviting and well appointed. We had never rented a VRBO home before and this was a wonderful experience. The owner has gone above and beyond to provide a lovely home away from home for her guests. We look forward to going back to the Whitney Cottage for another enjoyable getaway. We loved it !!! Great weekend get away!

The cottage was perfect for a quick get away. The fire stove kept the cottage cozy and warm. It was close to down town for walking and only a short drive Heart Lake for a hike. Everything was so comfortable and inviting - the bed was the best!

Perfect Location!

Short walk to all restaurants and shops is a big plus to my group. Very comfortable small but roomy house. Our host was readily available to answer questions and offer any help we needed. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Great Home in Town

We stayed here with another couple for 4 nights over Labor Day Weekend. The house was well equipped and very comfortable. Beds were nice, kitchen was well stocked, and the outdoor space was lovely. The location is also very convenient - just a block away from a grocery store and a few blocks from the Main Street with shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend!

Great location!

Lisa, the hostess, was absolutely wonderful to work with! The property is located in an ideal location if you are wanting to walk to dinner, shopping, and coffee! We stayed here with our three small kids and packed our scooters to move around downtown. I enjoyed my morning coffee and book on the adorable front porch each morning. The house was clean, comfortable and well stocked! The beds, especially the room with one bed was so unbelievably comfortable! To end our trip, my husband lost his wallet, we messaged Lisa and her cleaning crew found it and, through VRBO, called us to schedule a pick up. She was very prompt and quick to respond to any message I sent from the moment we booked. Location was amazing!!

July 4th stay

If you don’t mind a little criticism. It’s like coming to Grandma’s house…cozy with way too much furniture. Too dark inside. Beds were comfortable. Yard was perfect for dog. Great restaurant across the street. Parade was fun to watch and liked the access to downtown. Pedestrians walking by were interesting and some less than desirable.
