Beautiful private beach house with access to sound

  • This is a 4 bedroom 2 1/2 baths and sleeps 8. The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a full bath attached. The upstairs has a queen bed with access to a deck overlooking the creek, a double bed, and two twin beds. The room with the double bed connects to both the room with the twin beds and queen so is ideal for families with children. There is also a half bath upstairs. It has a new kitchen with a breakfast bar and 4 bar stools and an additional full bath off of it. Open living area with dining area that seats 10 and a breakfast bar that has bar stools. The yard is large and has a dock and access to Archers Creek (the water level is dependent on the tides) which leads to the sound. Also has an outdoor shower. The house has 2 kayaks. Feel free to kayak out to the sound and go clamming with clamming rake! We have bikes, beach chairs a wagon and beach toys. (There is a golf cart rental place on the island also)
    Has a large deck in the front and a nice large deck in the back that has views of the sound and creek. Also, a deck off the 2nd floor Bedroom with beautiful views as well. The house has a large pond in the front with plenty of frogs and turtles to amaze all ages. This is truly a nature lover paradise!
    Also has a beautiful, glassed porch with heat/ac and a gas and charcoal Grill!
    The beach is an easy walk or bike ride away (880 yards) and the center of town is less than a mile which make for an easy bike ride or walk to local restaurants and shops.
    Dishwasher pods, dish soap, roll of paper towels, coffee filters and trash bags for the kitchen will be provided under the kitchen sink as well as 3 rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom. Other items that are needed for your stay will need to be brought with you.

Emerald Isle

We loved our stay at this quaint house on Emerald Isle. The house was perfect for our family of five. We loved all the nature at the house and the proximity to the beach! We rented a golf cart which was super convenient! Would definitely stay here again!

We loved our first visit to Emerald Isle!! The house was great with beautiful views! We loved the bikes and that dock!!!! Easy proximity to the beach—we rented a golf cart! We will definitely be back!!

We really enjoyed staying at this beach house. Spent time fishing and crabbing off dock. Played the shuffleboard table for hours. Went to the beach and took walks around the neighborhood. The house was very clean and well appointed. Good communication with hosts. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!

Don’t Hesitate Booking

We LOVED our stay here. The house had plenty of room for our family of 7. We had room to spread out, but the living room and dining room also gave us the option to spend time together. The covered patio was a family hangout favorite for us. The house was clean, the beds were comfy, and the house had proximity to anything we needed. We would stay here again in a heart beat. We would absolutely recommend this house, and Emerald Isle.

Oasis with Everything

So many extra's with this house, Bikes, rods, kayak's, crab pots and walkable to the beach. Lazy bench swing overlooking a beautiful pod full of peepers at night. There is something fun and well thought out everywhere you turn.

Our family from NYC and Austin, Tx spends a week at Emerald Isle

The house, amenities and communication with manager/ owner could not have been better. The house is spacious and beautiful with magical surroundings and landscaping with easy proximity to the beach. We could not have been happier!!! Be sure we will return. Thanks so very, very much.

Wonderful Home!

I stayed here with a group of college friends to celebrate a big birthday together. The house was wonderful. We enjoyed the deck facing the marsh every night, cooked meals in the well equipped kitchen, took advantage of the kayaks and bikes and felt right at home. We did rent a golf cart which helped us get our stuff to and from the beach (which is easily walkable without all the gear). Sarah, the owner, was always super responsive and helpful. It was a great stay and I highly recommend it.

Beyond Happy

The house was just as described. It was spacious and everything you could want. Our family of 5 stayed in the home. Our three daughters all slept upstairs and each one having their own room was a plus. We loved having the bikes to be able to ride them to breakfast and dinner. The location was perfect. 4th of July fireworks on the beach were unlike anything I have seen. Didn't know which way to look with all of them going off. It was spectacular. The beach was beautiful and not a far walk at all. We took a short drive to Swansboro- loved the town. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Communication with the host was great. Thank you for sharing your home!

The property is beautiful & the house is laid out in such a fun way with nooks & crannies. The owners of the property do not skimp out on anything to include top-notch appliances & plenty of things like beach towels, hand weights, kayaks, & bikes. There is a telescope, shuffle board table, beach toys, etc.. There was sunscreen, maps & brochures to the area as well as clear & concise instructions. There are a couple of things that I should mention. I did contact the owner prior to our stay to ask if they had an oscillating fan or a fan separate from a ceiling one because the noise helps me sleep. They did provide a small desk fan that we placed on one of the dressers for noise & air circulation. The bedroom on the main floor stayed warm regardless of the thermostat setting or leaving the door open & using both the ceiling fan & the small fan. We did end up going to Lowe's & buying us a pedestal fan for our stay. The AC vents are in the floor at that level and didn't blow very hard so that might have been the issue. That is not something that the owner can take care of right away but it is something that future vacationers should be made aware of. The other thing that should be known is there are skylights in all but one of the bedrooms. If you are sensitive to light there is no way to close them or block them & since I travel with a sleep mask due to being woken up by the light, I just used that instead. We did not like the local donuts. They are very doughy & dense.

12/10 Vacation, with Entertainment for our Family Gathering, Ages 4-84.

I use VRBO almost exclusively for vacation stays, and this is the best VRBO rental experience I have had (and that’s a high standard, as I have been fortunate to have had many lovely vacation experiences through VRBO). The property is exactly as described, and Sarah was beyond excellent in communicating with us. She was prompt in answering a few questions we had, as well as flexible and kind with a few scheduling issues we faced during the trip. Her aim was to provide a stress free experience for us, and we so appreciated that. The property is *perfect* for families, especially those with kids who may need some extra space for their own rooms but close and connected to the parents room. The kitchen was generously supplied with pots, pans, and even lovely decorative dishes with beach themes that we used to host a small family reunion gathering at the rental one evening of the stay. If you have kids, the lily pond will provide endless entertainment for exploration while you can swing in the breeze right by the pond. The pier will provide the same chance to check out crabs and other water creatures, and there are bunnies hopping all around (at least during June). We didn’t get a chance to use the kayaks but that’s next on our list the next time we visit. Finally, beach access is a very short walk, but we rented a golf cart (easy process for first-timers like us), and that was a highlight for my 4-year-old. Many thanks to Sarah for a 12/10 stay!

Great Labor Day Weekend

Very special property with endless outdoor activities. Great for families looking for plenty of space. We rented a golf cart and rode our bikes everywhere we went due to the very convenient and accessible location. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Close enough to the beach. Bikes were very useful to tote items to the beach w us. I would recommend to any family. Our middle son is a marine so it was convenient for him to come here to stay and meet with family.

Absolutely Perfect

Description of the property along with the reviews are spot on. Sarah couldn't have communicated with us any better and our stay was excellent. The biggest takeaways were the great views of the intracoastal throughout the home, cleanliness, beautiful and unique property, and the availability of everything you need for your stay. We didn't even use the beach towels we brought and were able to cook multiple meals in the well-stocked kitchen. Overall though, the owner was superb and even went through all the trouble to immediately mail some items we left at the property. Perfect stay.

Peaceful spot for family gathering

This lovely, Emerald Isle house is located on Archer Creek--a salt marsh tributary that leads to the intercoastal sound. The house was clean and comfortable, the grounds were beautiful. The beach is a short bike ride away (on the fleet of single-speed, wide tire, adult bikes that are available at the house. A trailer attached to one of the bikes carried all our gear). The configuration of bedrooms upstairs is really best for a family. One of the bedrooms (the one with the full size bed) is only accessible by cutting through one or the other of the bedrooms (with queen or twin beds). We were fine with it, so it worked for us. The house has many different hangout spaces--so plenty of options for groups to gather, or find a little space apart. There are several different decks--a spacious one at the entry for catching beach gear and hanging out while waiting for your turn at the wonderful outdoor shower; the deck in the back has a view of the marsh and sunset with tables for cocktails and dining (along with a very nice, multi-fuel grill), and the one off the upstairs queen bedroom--perfect for early morning yoga. Sitting out on the dock in the salt marsh in the early am, or paddling on Archer Creek in the kayaks provided was also delightful. Sarah was prompt and helpful in all her correspondence. We would definitely return to this delightful home on Emerald Isle!

Family Beach Trip

I enjoyed my trip to Emerald Isle and my stay at this property. I visited for a week with my husband, two small children, and my parents. They layout of the house worked well for us. My husband and our children stayed in the upstairs bedrooms and the fact that they are connected worked well for us. My parents stayed in the downstairs bedroom and were able to have some privacy. The only part of the house that didn’t work well for small children was the bathtub. There is only one bathtub in the house and it’s an older, jetted tub. It’s very deep and it’s difficult to bathe small children in it. The house is a 10-15 minute walk to the beach and you do need to cross a main road. We rented a golf cart which made things much easier. There is plenty of golf cart parking at the beach access. My five year old enjoyed exploring the frog pond and dock, but we did find that even with bug repellent on we got quite a few bites. The house is also within easy driving distance to the Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores and Fort Macon, both of which were interesting day trips. The house was clean, as were all of the linens. We did encounter some bugs in the kitchen, bathroom, and front room. The owners have been working with an exterminator, so hopefully they will be cleared up soon. Overall, we had a lovely time at this house.

Very unique and nice house.

Very unique house! Plenty of space for everyone with more couches and sitting areas than you’ll need. Communication with the host was excellent. I would stay there again.

what a gem!

Such an amazing stay! Sarah's house was such a great find ... super clean, ample room, tons of places to spend time with family or quiet time, and great location. loved having access to the inlet and then just a short bike ride to the beach. handful of restaurants are walkable if you don't feel like getting in the car. would definitely stay again!
