Above the Gulf House: Spectacular Ocean View!

  • Surrounded by the forest the house is set off the ground and has huge windows to give it spectacular views of the forest canopy and Nicoya Gulf. Big rooms and Queen size beds provide comfort, plus all the essentials and more are provided. The house is large enough for a family but also perfect for a couples romantic get-away. Located close to town but extremely private it is ideal as a base to enjoy all of Monteverdes attractions and is an attraction in itself that provides the peace to rest after a full day of activities.

    As mentioned the house is located on a large property, there are other rent houses on the property but out of shouting distance to provide each with privacy. Just up the road from the property there are several restaurants, a couple small supermarkets, art galleries and souvenir shops. Also in the area there are several attractions such as private reserves, a butterfly garden, night tours and others.

    The space

    The house is located on a 27 acre property which guests can explore as they wish, providing them the opportunity to see lots of the local flora and fauna without having to book a tour or drive anywhere.

    Interaction with guests

    Our hostess will confirm your reservation, meet you for check in and help with any questions you might have about the house, the area, tour options, dining suggestions on anything else you might need. We will leave you to yourself once checked in but are available at any moment for any questions or help you may need.

    Other things to note

    As a note the sofa bed lacks privacy because it is located in the living area but not comfort since it has a double bed mattress on it.

    This property has a security camera outside, facing the garage.

Daniella was wonderful, meeting us upon arrival to explain use of the house and the area. She even arranged a night tour with George who was absolutely wonderful and interacted thoroughly with the children enhancing the experience. Would highly recommend and definitely stay again if in the area.

Location is hidden and it’s difficult to find at first however, the area is beautiful, away from the noises. Plenty of space, rooms are very nice, located near to several attractions, downtown area is a few minutes drive. Though there was wall fixed small fans, the rooms need a ceiling fan for better air flow. Overall it’s a great place to Experience.

Comfortable reality, remote perception

Amazing place to stay. All the comforts you’d need on site and a quick walk or drive to town, but it leaves you feeling like you’re kilometers from the closest person. Check in/out was very easy and convenient. Communication was excellent. Driveway may be bumpy but it’s not a problem (probably even with a 2WD vehicle).

Beautiful spot. Very clean, lovely view, well equipped kitchen. Do note that the driveway down to the property is a bit steep, and might be tricky if you are in a sedan.

Wonderful! Highly recommended - amazing view from the porch, and we saw toucans, bellbirds, capuchin monkey, agouti, coati, heard howler monkeys and manakins-- all while enjoying coffee of the porch. Feels like you're in the middle of the cloud forest but a quick drive or lovely walk to Santa Elena or Monteverde. We enjoyed the trails and the optional al fresco breakfast. Daniela is the best host. Highly recommended!

This house worked well for our family of adults. It’s close enough to town but it feels like a tree house in the woods. Great view of the Gulf of Nicoya. Communication with the host was always quick and easy.

Amazing rental house in Monteverde!

Just rent this house now and don't look elsewhere! Amazing view from the property. We saw a toucan, monkeys, coatis, agoutis, and other birds right from the porch. Close to everything in town and attractions. We had great communication with Daniela the host, and she arranged great guided tours for us. A truly incredible propety.

Magical Place

Absolutely loved it - one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. The gorgeous wood furniture and the view were the highlights. We saw more wildlife from the balcony than we did at Monteverde or Curi-Cancha! Can’t recommend highly enough.

Great house for family or 4 plus people in Monteverde!

Beautiful house with a great view! You feel out in nature and even the monkeys came right up to the house one afternoon. Nice walking trails and good food nearby. Close to zip lining and the cloud forest.

Truly one of our favorite homes we’ve stayed in. Even the pictures don’t do it justice. Everything is beautifully crafted, comfortable, works well, and is thoughtful. Amazing property and kids loved the park. Close to everything. I made a mistake in booking on headcount but Danielle helped me remedy it in a thoughtful and considerate way. We saw so many animals off the deck, incredible views, peace and quiet. We would not hesitate to rent this place again in the region- it’s amazing!!!

Amazing little house !!

My family of four stayed here for 2 nights as we explored CR. The view over the gulf is just beautiful! The light from the large windows is so nice c the beds are comfy, there are two bathrooms and washer/dryer, and a small kitchen! I wish we had more time here !

Great hideaway with wonderful views

Even our 25 year old daughter was amazed with the views from the house. The house itself is also view nice, open and airy yet plenty of privacy. Daniela is a wonderful, attentive host. Recommend the breakfast at Abuela’s Hideout.
