The mine was very spacious and clean. Our family of 6 adults and 3 toddlers and 1 infant had plenty of space. The pool was nice and beach was amazing! Couldn’t have asked for better weather too!The only thing was the home advertised having children’s eating utensils and they’re weren’t any (the host also said they didn’t have any). They would have “Baby Quiped” some but thought they had some. Really not that big of a deal. Home was beautiful.

The best part of the house was the location. Loved the beachfront access. However, I think that management need to provide more starter kits to make it more convenient for the guests i.e., kitchen did not have handwashing liquid. Only provided a 2 oz dish liquid for a 9 bedroom house! They also charged us for a damage we did not do. The basement (kids room) was really hot the first day. The management was not prompt in replying to our concerns.

Great Location

Our stay was mostly great. We did have a few issues:-communication on the using the beach chairs and umbrellas was poor. There were no instructions informing us we needed to rent extra chairs. -no beach towels were provided so we had to go out and buy many for the week.-The grill had a broken starter, when we lit the gas with a torch the weak flame kept blowing out; this made the grill unusable.-the early check-in process left much to be desired. the house went unrented the two days preceding our stay, and even with a week and 24hr reminder the management was unable to secure any more than a 2hr early check in. - the pool had broken tiles with sharp edges that ended up cutting feet.-the electrical outlets didn't work in a first-floor bedroom and bathroom.Only small irritations to deal with during our stay. It was the first time renting in this area and we expected more for the price we paid. It was a great house for a five-family weeklong vacation. The air conditioning worked well, and the parking was easy. the kids loved the basement. The location to the beach and shopping was awesome.

disappointing stay

Heated pool not working. The reason for booking this property was for the heated pool for the babies. Also be aware at the very bottom of the listing is says 100 a day for heating. After several attempts of many phone calls and finally getting a few different people out they agreed it wasn't working. So we were unable to use the pool. It happen to pretty cold the week we were there. A house should be inspected prior to arrival to make sure there are no issues. This was very disappointing.

Excellent location, beautiful house, lovely trip

The pictures are perfect and very representative of the stay. The deck and house are beautiful. On the beach and amazing walk out. Truly a magnificent location near everything. Unfortunately, they can't control the weather which was drizzly but having such an amazing house made inside time easy. I would definitely recommend this house and plan to stay here again.

Beautiful Home on the beach

The house looked just like the pictures. There were plenty of bedrooms and the layout was perfect to allow for the adults to have privacy. I loved that several of the bedrooms had private bathrooms. The basement kids room was a huge hit for our 5 and 7 year old. They loved the slide! Management was very responsive as we had to message them a few times due to the freezing temps causing us to briefly lose hot water. They were right on it! We would highly recommend this property. The pool, the walkout to the beach, the views, all excellent!

A contractor has access to the door locks and came into the property when we were staying there.

The road was flooded when we arrived, once we got through the flooded road there was 3 construction workers with a truck and u-haul trailer in the driveway. There were working on property. I asked them to leave they did. Then he comes back the next morning at 6:00am banging out tile right next to the main bedrooms. I asked for him to leave he did not. Plus he had access to the house code and invited himself into the property without consent and walked into the basement to get material from a locked door in the bathroom. Where all the kids were staying. I the submarine room My daughter was in the shower and came out and a man/contractor was in the basement. My child was so upset. The management company day 1 and day 2 of our stay to let them know what has been going on. They took my information and said someone would call me. No one reached out to us at all during our stay. This was booked 8 months ago and we were using this property for a small wedding. It was so stressful. The contractors blocked off the front entrance and said we couldn’t use it for 4 hours because of new tile that was just put down. The tile was fine it was just cosmetic. I have been trying 2 weeks after our stay to get in contact and to get this issue resolved or inform the owner regarding their investment property about our stay.

Well-Appointed and Comfortable Beach House

This house very comfortably accommodated our family of 13, which included 8 adults, 2 teens and 3 children. The pictures of the house on VRBO are accurate. The house is right on the beach, with reasonably easy access as far as getting you and your gear down close to the surf. It is well-appointed - the kitchen has a Viking range, oven and microwave (although the range was a little wonky as far as getting the burners lit). The kitchen is stocked with just about everything you need to cook most any meal (except for the notable absence of measuring cups). The furnishings are fairly upscale for a beach house and in great condition. AC worked like a charm. The house has really nice decks off the two upper levels. The second level deck includes the splash pool. There is an additional large deck on the way down to the beach which is particularly awesome in the evening and at night. I would recommend this house, with the following caveats: 1. Check the grease trap and cabinet under the outdoor gas grill. When we arrived, we only opened the top cover and were pleased with how clean the grates were. However, when we tried to grill some hamburgers, the grease trap and bottom cabinet caught fire because they had not been cleaned out (perhaps ever?). Had to use a fire extinguisher to put it out - burgers ruined. We took one star off the "Cleanliness" rating for this. 2. Be careful walking near and around the columns in the main living area as you turn into the kitchen island area. The base of the columns is hard to see as they blend into the floor tiles. Several bruised toes resulted. 3. In high season, Destin is crowded. The population pressure on this section of the beach is inordinate. Be prepared to secure a patch of the beach early in the morning.. We took 2 stars off the "Location" category for this. 4. The front entrance to the house (the only way to get your gear into the property) requires navigating a set of stairs equivalent to climbing one-story. 5. The WiFi was abysmal, and depending on your carrier, cell service is just about non-existent. The maintenance person who came out to check/fix/clean the grill after our fire, told us they had done everything to try to make it better, but this was what you get. This impacted TV viewing depending on which TV you were using if you want to stream. If you like to stream music, make another wish. Best place to connect was on a bench seat near the laundry on the third level.

Great time

We enjoyed our stay - Four adults, one teenager, four boys ages 3 to 6. The house was beautiful and nicely furnished. The bedroom on the lower floor was incredible. The boys loved it and it’s even better than the pictures. Maintenance was quick to respond to our issues. I was disappointed with the window treatments in the bedrooms. They don’t block out sunlight and with the sun rising between 5:3:0 and 6:00 it was very difficult to sleep much later. The amenities included a small bar of soap for each sink and shower. We were furnished one roll of paper towels and 3 pods of dishwasher soap. I expected a little more for a property as nice as this one.

Great place for family and friends!

Our medical office took a long weekend to unwind after a long 2 years. The house was large and spacious! We could be alone in our own retreats in the house or gather in the large central room! The beach assess was the best!!

Great Location and potentially perfect house

Beautiful house. Great Location right on the beach. House could have been more beautiful if it were cleaned properly. Decorations were still up from the previous renters. Trash can cabinet was broke. Called to let the staff know and they said someone would come out to fix it, but no one ever came. We still enjoyed our stay. But for the money we spent to stay over a holiday weekend, I would have thought it would have been a little better. Would certainly consider renting again at a cheaper price.

Wonderful family vacation!

This place was just awesome! Even better than the online pictures! It is just steps away from the beach and if you are one who enjoys the beauty of the beach without the sand between your toes the very spacious deck is the place for you. The pool which is under a covered porch is perfect for the little ones who need a break from the sun. My family highly recommends this beautiful home for your next vacation! Thanks Destin getaways!

Great Location, poor management

The beach was steps away from home, pool in great location, loved the large dining table. We were not allowed in at 4pm as the cleaners had just arrived, 4 cleaners swept through the home In 1 hour, obviously not enough time to deep clean anything, this was a bit of a concern. They forgot to replenish the towels so we didn’t have enough for all 14 of us. We called Destin Getaways and they brought some same day but still not enough and we had to call again next day. Pool dirty upon arrival, the pool company never came to clean. gas grill left on, we noticed the gas smell the next day and reported this to Destin gateways as a future safety concern. They didn’t seem to understand why this may be an issue. Some beds hard as rock and others too soft. Home could use a refresh on mattresses and pillows. In spite of some of the discomforts we had a great time. I would not use Destin Gateways again though. They were supernice and easy to reach however I felt they weren’t managing the property well.

Main floor Master bath and bath room electrical outlets were not working. Could not find breaker panel to see if they were tripped. Check Middle back burner on stove would never light. Nails on walkway to the beach need some attention.

Couldn’t ask for much more!

We rented this house for 5 families with small children (ages 7 months to 9 years) and it was fabulous! The pros, 1. Being right on the beach is a huge bonus. 2. The pool is a little bigger than it looks in the pictures. Most of the time we had a couple of adults and 5 or 6 kids in it and managed just fine. 3. The bedrooms seemed much larger in person as well. The ceilings on both floors are really high so it feels much more spacious. If you’re staying here with small kids, you may want to be cautious of the staircase and some heavy furniture. We did find two sets of baby gates but couldn’t figure them out? 4. The fully stocked kitchen was huge and perfect for cooking large meals 5. There really isn’t a bad room in the house. The first floor master and second floor suite are definitely the best but the other guest rooms were nice too. 6. Great location away from large crowds The reasons I gave four stars were, 1. The first floor pullout couch was pretty terrible. 2. The main tv was really difficult to figure out and didn’t work past day one. 3. The dishwasher wouldn’t drain properly 4. There were just two beach chairs and one Umbrella. Better than nothing but would be great to have some more 5. The A/C was really Unbalanced. Some rooms were as cold as 58 while others were in the high 70’s! None of this was major though and we’d still stay here again in a heart beat!
