"The room offered a safe but there was no key available. Most of the rooms have missing keys. The hotel is under limited renovation but needs to be totally renovated and this wasn’t noted when booking. The hotel was over priced for the service offered, for the appearance, for the mildew smell in the rooms and for the lack of safes in the room. We paid $275 a night which includes the tax."

"The Paint was peeling off the ceiling. The toilet is leaking. The restaurants are closed during the week or open later for lunch, so difficult to get breakfast. The old part of the hotel definitely needs some upkeep. If you’re planning on staying at the mountaineer, I would recommend requesting the newer part of the hotel. We’re just staying down the road at the Wyngate."
