"The hotel is perfectly situated next to the gondola and the staff are super helpful. Hotel room was huge and clean. They service the rooms daily and everything is in walking distance, but not right where the hustle and bustle is.The parking is a little funky, but if you buy parking, you can park underground, in the garage. "Very nice older property right near Gondola. No ac in rooms and windows shut so quite warm when we checked in. The hot tubs and pool were very nice. We had some plumbing issues. Probably a bit overpriced compared to some other properties nearby. We were attending the bluegrass festival and that was fantastic!"

"We’ve stayed at The Peaks on several occasions, and sadly, this trip was incredibly disappointing. From the moment we checked in, the experience was poor. The front desk employee was curt and provided virtually no information about the hotel or amenities. We weren’t told that the pool was under construction, the waterslide was closed, the game room was closed, or that the restaurant wasn’t open. We weren’t given the Wi-Fi password, told where to find breakfast or what the coffee shop offered,...

"Woke up after the hours sore from the cheap beds. Everything there is incredibly cheap except the price of the room. It’d take nearly nothing for them to upgrade the beds. The rest of the room was bad, too. Outdated plumbing. No screens, so you face to choose between stale air or mosquitoes. Cheap, Dollar Tree robes. Pathetic, overall."

Due to a wildfire in the area, I called the day of our check-in to request a cancellation or rebook to a different date. The highway leading into Ouray was closed and law enforcement was urging people to stay away. I was told that as I booked through Expedia it was impossible to change the reservation and that they had a clear policy of no refund less than 14 days out. I...
