We had an excellent stay at Grand Chelem with our two families. Alvaro was always available for any questions or concerns we had. The house is very new and well apointed with tons of space for all of us. Almost every thing we needed was available or was quickly brought to us. Having a car at this location is a must as it is pretty secluded. The town of Chelem is not far but has limited resources. Progresso is about 30 minutes away and is where you will find the best grocery stores and restaurants. The beach in front of the property is not a typical beach front as it has dividing barriers on either side of the property. Sargassum and debris is an issue depending on what the tide brings in or takes away which makes accessing the beach challenging. This is not the Riviera Maya and the beach experience is not the same, but we were looking to check out a different part of the peninsula. Merida which is about an hour away is fantastic and worth incorporating into your trip if you have time. We really enjoyed our stay, the quality time with our families and we really loved the friendliness of the locals.
