"We stayed here for one night after a day in Winchester. A nice enough hotel, with staff pleasant enough. The room we stayed in was small but well kept. The main issue we had was that the room was that next to a staff run through, meaning doors were slammed constantly. Further, there was no air conditioning, and the room we were in at the bottom floor was next to a busy beer table and had lots and lots of mosquitoes, meaning we were bitten to heck! "Lovely room lots of character. The food is excellent and clearly very popular indeed the local area, definitely reserve a table. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They had a breakfast sandwich ready for me to leave early for work which was much appreciated. Will definitely stay again "

"It's a very old building with only stairs but staff was more than pleasant adverse helpful. They bought our luggage up to our room and then even brought it back down I highly recommend this place."

"The hotel, staff and food were all excellent, the only downfall is you have to pay to park there which I dont agree with if you are staying there. For that reason I will not stay there again."

"Staff are very welcoming, friendly, helpful, and attentive. Excellent menu choices and good value. The Kings Head is well situated for exploring Hampshire via public transport and/or car and seems to be a bit of a hub for local residents. The room along with the rest of the hotel is decorated to a good level to make our weekend stay comfortable."

"The breakfast was very good for buffet with cooked options. It’s well located for Winchester but not a hotel with charming views and paying for parking on top of room charges needs looking at. Why not make it inclusive ? A fridge in the room and capsule coffee maker would be more useful than a safe. "

"Great location two minutes walk from the seafront. Functional premises, no frills, room was clean and comfortable. There are NO ensuite facilities here, large kitchen area with fridges, microwave, kettle and toaster. Very acceptable for a short undemanding stay."

"Well cooked and well presented breakfast. Room comfortable but was unable to wash or shower this morning as no hot water so a discount was given. Basin was cracked and did not hold water"

"We had a lovely overnight stay for my best friends birthday , she had a fabulous Driftaway spa treatment with the wonderful Charlotte , the setting of the hotel is beautiful & we enjoyed a leisurely walk around the lake . The room we stayed in hd everything we needed & we lovely & cleam . Food in restaurant was good with plenty of choice, the only small negative was that it was undergoing a refurbishment which limited us to access to bars & dining , but the staff were great , very friendly...

Room 202 will not disappoint! Situated directly above the kitchen/ staff area, this room is perfectly positioned for a nightmare stay. Whilst in this room you can expect music and kitchen noise until 10pm and you will really enjoy a very early morning wake up (talking 5am ish) from staff preparing breakfasts, whistling, plates...
