This area of Dekalb County is home to Desoto State Park, Desoto Falls, and Little River Canyon National Preserve. At Lazy River Cottage, enjoy a 32' long covered sitting porch facing Little River, complete with a 5’ porch swing and 4 of your favorite rocking chairs. Lazy River Cottage has three bedrooms and a sleeping loft. There are two large master bedrooms, both with king beds, private master bathrooms, and a wall of windows with beautiful river views, one on each floor. There is a third bedroom upstairs with a queen bed and semi-private bathroom that is shared with a large sleeping loft. The sleeping loft sleeps four with two twin beds, each with trundles. Downstairs is "wheelchair friendly", not ADA compliant, with 36" doorways, a ramp from the parking area, and a walk-in oversized shower in the master bedroom on the main floor. The first floor also includes a half bath, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, multi-cup coffee maker, microwave, island that seats two , dining area that accommodates eight, gas fireplace, and washer and dryer. The fire pit area includes adirondack chairs for enjoying the nights by the river. There is a sitting area by the water with a floating dock perfect for fishing, swimming, or kayaking.
Lazy River Cottage accommodates a maximum of 10 occupants. Each accompanying child is considered a traveler.

Parking for vehicles is on-site. Four Kayaks will be available on property for guest use and require a signed waiver at booking. Additional kayaks and canoes can be rented just steps away at Desoto Falls State Park.
Lazy River Cottage is three miles from the historic town center of Mentone Alabama where restaurants, shopping, banking, and service stations are located. The property is approximately 20 miles from The Little River National Preserve and VIsitors Center administered by the National Park Service. Desoto State Park Lodge and Restaurant is a four-mile drive. We are about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, or Nashville TN, a1 1/2 hour drive from Huntsville, AL, and 45 minutes from Chattanooga, TN.
