"The cottage looks nice in photos and they do keep it as clean as they can; however, it is very rundown. We were bothered by the strong smell of fabric softener (gives us migraines) and mildew. The beds were uncomfortable, the bathroom narrow and dark, and overall, we just had “the creeps” the whole time. So much so that we left early. Honestly, we expected more for the price. You can find better options in the area for what we paid."

Everything is very conveniently located you can walk to most places in Ashland right from the place. The apartment is pretty basic with kitchen items, but enough to do what you need to do. "What a Great space to spend time away with the Family! Very spacious. Just outside of town but close enough for our teenagers to walk into town. Town is wonderful, great shops lots to do. Our 3yo loved the nature museum. Lots of wildlife to witness. All in all 10/10! Definitely will book this again."

"When walking in the house there was a terrible smell, it was extremely musty smelling. It was extremely hot when we were there and the AC was not on. When we turned them both on (window units) the breaker blew and most of the house was dark. Fortunately the owners did respond to my message to let us know where the electrical panel was. "Over all the place was beautiful! The host responded quickly to any questions I had. I unfortunately did a late check in and had entered the code on a wrong keypad but the host had helped right away! It’s a pet friendly home and they also provide blankets and a bed for pets. They have a TV in both rooms! We plan to book in the future possibly with more family and friends! Also they can recommend places to visit, moved from Cali, it was a nice place to explore! "We loved the location of this house. It’s tucked away in the woods in a beautiful area just minutes south of Bayfield. The beds were comfy, and there was plenty of space for our family needs. A peaceful place to land at the end of busy days of exploring the Bayfield and Apostle Islands area. I recommend the Carriage House!"
