Wow, this is a beautiful hotel (Riad)… I would never think that it would qualify to be part of the Relais & Châteaux brand. The staff were disorganized, unprofessional and no where near what you would expect from the level of Service of this hotel group. My reservation began with them, dropping the ball or organizing our driver. We had a several email correspondence leading up to my reservation and I was left waiting at the airport with my child longer than my actual flight from Marrakech. They lied about their mistake.. blaming it on the taxi driver. After getting checked in, they continued to refer to me by the wrong name. The final issue that occurred at this hotel that made me write this negative review with the confusion I experienced while dining in this hotel. The waiters were not getting paid the “service charge” assessed on our dining bills. When I inquired to clarify that the server was being tipped, I was told..”No, that is kept by the hotel… tips must be paid in cash”. As a patron, and a person that has worked in the service industry… I tip well. I didn’t care really what the truth was, just that I could compensate the server for good service. When I ask the front desk about this… They got angry. I then had to witness them berate the server-unprofessional and uncomfortable for everyone at the hotel. The manager did it again to the same server at 10:30pm causing disruption to families, trying to sleep. This hotel should no way be a part of the R&C brand.
