"I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. "Lovely Breakfast included. Owner was very attentive and made you feel very welcome. Only downside was that the shower head would not stay up and was held up by blue tack. Room was cold, but staff quickly sorted this. Food was great. The pub is very pretty!"

"I had to leave because the noise was unbearable. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights but only stayed for 1 in the end due to the noise. We book a hotel to try and sleep in and relax. However the music from the bar was so loud. The music went on till midnight, then started again at 7am and went on the whole next day, louder at night. I had the TV on loud, and could still not hear it because of the bass/music coming from the bar. Plus the banging from the corridor of doors, especially from the...

"Great place to stay right in the centre of Leicester. The rooms are updated, modern and very comfortable. Parking is available on site at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety of high quality food to choose from. Highly recommended."
