For family meal times, a generous kitchen-diner is furnished with a large dining table and fitted with a Mokka coffee machine, a dishwasher, an oven, a gas hob, and a fridge freezer

Location

The property is situated in La Marsiliana, surrounded by farmland and close to some of the region\'s best family beaches that are especially suited for those with young children. The closest restaurant is a 10-minute walk away, and there is a supermarket a 3-minute drive away.

Feniglia Beach (Orbetello) is a 25-minute drive away and offers a very long stretch of fine sand with shallow waters, sheltered by a dense pine forest. It is ideal for families as you can hire bicycles and cycle along the shaded path through the pine forest, spotting fallow deer and other wildlife. La Giannella Beach, another tombolo (strip of land) with beach facilities, bars and restaurants, is just a 10-minute drive and also great for those travelling with young children.

Those keen to explore inland can head to the medieval village of Capalbio, nicknamed ‘Little Athens’ (a 15-minute drive) or Montemerano, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, with its characteristic Piazza del Castello (a 30-minute drive). Guests can also sample the famous Morellino di Scansano wine or extra virgin olive oil directly from local producers. For trekking enthusiasts, the WWF Orbetello Lagoon Nature Reserve is a 10-minute drive and perfect for a walk in nature. Here, children can birdwatch (the pink flamingos are very famous). The Maremma Regional Park (a 50-minute drive) (Uccellina) is also worth visiting. With its main entrance in Alberese, it offers routes on foot, by bike or even by horse-drawn carriage and is ideal for seeing Maremma horses and long-horned cows in the wild.

The spectacular natural outdoor hot springs in Cascate del Mulino (Saturnia) are free to visit and a 30-minute drive away, and great fun for older children. The water is warm (37°C all year round), but you need to be careful as the stones can be slippery.

The closest international airport is Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport (FCO), a 1-hour 30-minute drive away.
