Ridgeway log cabin, quiet and secluded getaway ideal for a family.

This log chalet is simply a gem hidden in the quiet valley.

Ridgeway lodge is perfect romantic hideaway tucked away in a bush setting down a dead end road. The log chalet enjoys all day sun and offers beautiful mountain and hilltop views. Outdoor decks provide a haven for relaxation and listening to the abundant birdlife whilst soaking up the fresh mountain air.

The spacious indoor living area is a pleasure to relax in, with a cozy log fire, flat screen TV/DVD player. Enjoy the evenings all snug and cosy whilst listening to your favourite music or watching a movie; or soak up the warmth of the beautiful fire and simply relax and enjoy watching the flames and glowing embers.
The large kitchen is very well equipped, with a dishwasher, microwave, oven, stove top and large fridge / freezer.The bathroom has a large shower, toilet and a quirky stone vanity with rustic mirror.

A large master bedroom with queen sized bed sets the scene for concluding a great evening. The bedroom opens up to a balcony with a track to the garden. The second bedroom offers 2 single beds. The mezzanine is set up as a second lounge with a big TV screen/DVD player. The sofa here folds out to a double bed. This space opens up to a deck with magnificent views of the mountain.
NO EV-charging permitted as the electrical system is not wired up for this.

Enjoy walking, skiing or mountain biking or book a local sauna. There is plenty of space under the carport for hanging your ski or other sporting gear. Or just stay around the log chalet, relax or explore the hidden areas and find the river in the surrounding bush.
Note that bedlinens/towels are not standard included but can be arranged on request.

Nice location, house and view. Able to access the property and good kitchen facilities. Nice to have the fire to warm the place up. Weather was a bit cold and enclosed, so didn't really get to fully appreciate the offer.

The apps prior to bringing us to Bookabach stated the location is within Hanmer Spring. Address is only given 3 days before departure with no cancellation fee thereafter. Address didn’t state explicitly it is not in Hanmer. In fact it is an hour away from Hanmer! Deceptive advert. Wall heater in the master bedroom is broken. Reported but no reply. House is ok except with no sheets supplied that is written on fine prints in the terms and condition attached in a pdf. All mattress covers were covered with tiny leaves sticking on it, weren’t look that clean. Overall stay was ok but not impressive. Sofa lounge on upstairs tv room is dusty, TV not working either.

Beautiful mountain and bush views

We had an incredible stay, such a lovely house and beautiful serene and beautiful alpine mountain environment to be in. Enjoyed every moment of our trip. We tried the finnish sauna in the village and enjoyed ourselves so much. Highly recommend!

Relaxing weekend

Wonderful property to relax in and enjoy the views over the bush and mountains. Everything inside the house is modern - great kitchen and bathroom. Very comfortable furniture and beds. Extremely private - you can't see any neighbours in any directly. A peaceful place to enjoy a few days away from everything.

Some surprises

We were a little surprised and disappointed when we arrived at the property to discover a lot of the owners things in the house, as well as some quirks to the layout. All the drawers in the master bedroom were full of their clothes including underwear and personal items, with no spare space, dressing gowns and slippers were lying around. The fridge and freezer also had lots of food left inside and was also not in the kitchen. There was an unexpected toilet adjoining the 2nd bedroom (kids were quite happy). No drawers in the 2nd room or wardrobes for them to store their clothes, so they lived out of their bags. DVD player and TV were ancient and very temperamental. Back up DVD player kindly provided by Claudine also unfortunately did not work. Bathroom off main living area seemed quirky. Mezzanine with TV and sofas also an unusual layout with sofas side on to the television. The positives were that Claudine was very responsive and helpful, the home had a lovely outlook and great outdoor spaces to enjoy in the warmer weather. It was well equipped, if a little cluttered, with heaters in the rooms, it was spacious and light filled and with plenty of wood and the woodburner it was nice and warm.

Perfect Spot

Well set up home with everything that we need for a perfect few days away from the madness. Fully equipped, easy to keep warm and in a spectacular part of the country. Was restful when we wanted to do not much but also offered opportunities for walks both long and short.

Such a great place to come amd escape from it all. No internet so a great opportunity to go for walks read books and play games. Super cute log cabin. Very comfy beds cosy lounges and beautiful views

Perfect for the 4 of us. It was really helpful to have the extra toilet upstairs to use during the night.
