"PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT. Excellent lakefront property. Hoise is well loved and cared for. Very clean. Plenty of outdoor area to run around. The penisula is a great spot for morning sunrises and catching some photos of loons. Many kayaks to enjoy time on the lake, laumch right fromt the beach. Plenty of indoor activities as well. The owners thought of everything when preparing the home for vacationers. There was not one time cooking that we didnt have what we needed. Kitchen is well stocked...

Only thing we were not too keen on were the sleeping situations, as some of us had to double up on the beds, but the listing says that 11 are able to sleep comfortably. "A lovely property with a homey feel and an amazing view. It was well stocked with everything we needed to cook family meals even a large pot for lobster boils. We appreciated it was only 3 steps to get in the house with bathroom grab bars for toilets and showers. There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs but for family members with limited mobility, all the common areas are on the ground floor with just one small step down to get on the deck. We will definitely stay there again."

"We had an amazing 5 days. This trip involved 4 generations of my family. We came to Machias to go to my grandson’s high school graduation. Six of us came from Florida and the others were from Maine. The house was a perfect size for our family. We spent a majority of the time out on the deck. The weather was gorgeous for us. We were even given the opportunity to witness the wonderful wildlife in the area. We had two moose wander through the yard on one occasion. Then we had two deer come through...

"The shoreline here is really beautiful, with rugged rocks and boulders and sea cliffs. The views from the cottage are lovely. The kitchen is well stocked. A very nice coffee pot! Views from the main bedroom are great. Cottage is rounded by beautiful evergreens and there is a set of rocking chairs where you can enjoy the view. A walk down the shore brings you to caves in one direction and a rocky beach in the other direction. Machias is a great town with a terrific brewpub and Helen’s for pie!"

"Our trip coincided with the landfall of Hurricane Lee - Donna went above and beyond on getting us updates, suggestions and even offered us some flexibility on the rental dates. All ended up working out as planned and it was a fantastic stay. The place was as described and as expected. The deck is awesome, nighttime sky views are unbeatable, it’s a nice area for walks and the serenity of the water and quiet neighbors made for a great getaway.
