This house is fantastic and we could not have asked for better hosts for our Louisville visit. Our kids loved being able to walk to restaurants and shops right there in St Matthews, and location is convenient to everything in Louisville. Would stay there again!

We stayed here with a group of 8 adults for a long weekend and found the space to be more than sufficient for everyone. The second-floor layout and amenities were perfect for gathering and relaxing together in the evenings. The property is in a fantastic location, with plenty of restaurant options within easy walking distance. Highly recommend for groups looking for comfort and convenience!

The house was great location from my wives family. With extreme heat this past week the upstairs was quite hot without air and would have been nice to have washer dryer in unit to wash clothes . However with close proximity to laundry mat we went there a few times .

Nice place good area

Stayed here with a group of 5 to do some bourbon drinking. Area was great. Property was nice. A bit confusing inside… took a minute to figure out the layout but actually worked out well for our group.

Chuckwick house

The Chuckwick house was perfect for our 5 person group. The location to visit some of te various distilleries in the are was great. The house was clean, comfortable, had a great variety of restaurants within walking distance. The beds were comfortable and with 5 people on the wi-fi at the same time it worked great. We will look to repeat our stay next year.

Great location

A group of us stayed here for a volleyball tournament. Pros: communication is great; clean house; close to grocery, restaurants, Expo center; Keurig with coffee pods, large enough for 3 couples and 3 daughters to share a bedroom. Cons: furniture is uncomfortable in living area, no where to put toiletries in bathrooms, needs suitcase racks in bedrooms

Loved the house but some things to consider

Loved the house. It has four bedrooms all with queen beds which was exactly what we were looking for. Some creative criticism and items to keep in mind. There are two bedrooms on the bottom floor and two upstairs. The HVAC system is not well balanced and was commented by others in their comments also. My stay was in the winter and to warm the downstairs creates a lot of heat to the upstairs bedrooms. Keep that in mind. It appears that when the AC is on the same general imbalance is felt. It’s an older home and it may just be that way. Also the rooms and bathrooms can be tricky as they really aren’t large enough to be well equipped for a longer stay. Plan to live out of your suitcase. The bathrooms need hooks on the doors or something to hold towels which would be a help. Also they are lacking any kind of bar supports so if you are uneasy on your feet be careful. Nothing outside of the number of rooms and bathrooms is designed for 8 people. Outside of one chair on the lower floor there is no padding on the furniture. The kitchen was nice and well equipped to cook in if that’s your jam. The pizza restaurant around the corner was fabulous and I strongly recommend eating there. The location was great. If you are wondering if we would stay there again, I would say not feeling it but the value for the four rooms, theee bathrooms was great. If you are looking for something spacious for the full family feeling I would steer clear of this home.

Great House

This property was very clean. The upstairs futon wasn’t very comfortable to sit. Supplies were great. Enough paper products, cleaning products and coffee/creamer. Upstairs had a floor a/c unit that was pretty noisy. The location is in the middle of a lot of stuff. Pizza place behind the rental was excellent.

Great location!

We had a fantastic stay in the Chuckwick House. It was super easy to get in with a key code, the house was very clean and well-appointed. There are two levels and each have a separate kitchen/kitchenette, living area and bathrooms. Note that the house has old bones, so expect to hear creaks and people walk through the house, it didn't bother us at all and the kids got a kick out of imagining some good ghost stories. The bedrooms would benefit from ceiling fans as the airflow is severely restricted, but the hosts did supply multiple small fans to help cool it down in the evenings. We had no issue with noise and there was ample parking (we stayed in July). We hit all the top tourist destinations within a ten minute drive, and walked to several local eateries and coffee shops in the neighborhood. Directly across from the house is a Trader Joes- type grocery store, and our favorite thing to do in the evenings was stroll through the historic neighborhoods behind the main street. We would absolutely stay here again!

Short conference trip

We had the pleasure of Bourbon Rentals in renting out the Chuckwick house in Louisville. First off, communication with Brandon and his team was super easy. They were always quick to respond and so accommodating with any questions or requests that we have. Upon arriving to the Chuckwick house, we were greeted by a very cute and clean 2-story house, fully stocked with everything we needed and more. We were so thankful that they went the extra mile and even supplied more than enough coffee pods for the days that we were there. The downstairs room has central airconditioning while the upstairs has a portable AC. The rooms having fans really helped cool down the upstairs, especially during the summer heat. We really enjoyed our stay in the Chuckwick house and this largely has to do with not only the accomodations but the hosts themselves. It is located in an area that is close to many stores and restaurants and yet, the neighborhood remains quiet. We would happily patronize botht his house and business in the future if the opportunity opens itself. We want to thank Bourbon Rentals, Brandon and his team for the wonderful experience!

Four bedrooms and comfortable but.....

Four comfortable bedrooms and an excellent location. I would stay there again but it needs some attention. Bedrooms needs darkening shades, cookware was pathetic and communications with owner was difficult. Several other minor issues but no deal killers.

Nice area

We loved the location of this rental. Lots of choices within walking distance. We had an issue with no devices to stream with in the bedrooms but the owner quickly resolved the issue and was very kind. The couches were not very comfortable but we managed once we got streaming devices in the bedrooms. You can sleep a lot of people, which was great but the rooms are small. No fault of the owner, just the way the house is. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the St. Mathew’s area.

Plenty of space, convenient location

Appreciated having a room for everyone and multiple spots to sit and talk. St Matthews area was convenient and walkable- close to Most things we were interested in. Great communication with host. Had everything we needed!

Cute place

Accurate to the online description. Cool location with many shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance. Only drawback was that the TVs are older smart TVs and we never could get them to stream anything. But that didn’t bother us as we were busy doing other things.

Good stay but a loud area.

A little cozy place with good beds decent bathrooms. The area is very loud not the owners fault. We had one issue with the A/C and the owner was quick to get it resolved. Very close to some good food and stores. We stayed here to visit the bourbon trail.
