"We’ve stayed here a few times. They updated in key areas. And it’s definitely a budget friendly place to stay. The beds aren’t the comfiest, but the kitchen is so handy. Kids enjoyed the pool. Everything is clean, well maintained in our opinion. Even though it’s a simple continental breakfast, real coffee would be appreciated, not instant 😅. But otherwise, it’s typical cereal, packaged muffins, boiled eggs, yogurt and abit of fresh fruit, breads with jellies and peanut butter and cream cheese...

"Wifi worked well. Parking was easy though they didnt ask license plate number. The door to the room is not well sealed. I found a damned near unkillable bug in the bathroom. Coffee was good. Check in was fast."

There's a roomy kitchen-living-relaxing space, fridges, free tea and coffee (the manager, John, makes a pot in the morning.) The location was excellent--right on the corner of Bastion and Commercial street, giving you walkable access to all the main attractions of Nanaimo. "The room was clean, comfortable, and properly maintained, which I appreciated. However, my experience at the front desk was disappointing. The girl at the hotel counter was very rude and unprofessional. She did not know how to speak to customers respectfully and lacked basic customer service skills. Good hospitality starts with polite and professional staff, so this part of the experience was not satisfactory."
