Orchid Hotel Review
I stayed at the Orchid Hotel for a week after leaving the Crown Royal IHG Hotel. Overall, the stay met my expectations. The room (107) was very clean, and the staff were warm, pleasant, and attentive.
However, I rated the hotel 3 out of 5 due to a few key issues:
Unreliable Internet – The Wi-Fi was unstable throughout my stay, which is critical in today’s environment. Despite being told it was working, other guests also reported similar issues. Reliable internet access is essential and should be prioritized.
Ironing Facilities – There are no irons in the rooms. Guests are required to use a communal iron in the lobby, which is inconvenient and lacks privacy.
Transportation – It was often difficult to catch an Uber or cab after 8 a.m. due to rush hour. While this is common in London, it’s worth noting for guests who need morning transportation.
On the positive side, the hotel provides a simple breakfast (toast, boiled eggs, cold cuts, cheese, coffee/tea) that serves its purpose, even if basic.
In summary, the Orchid Hotel is clean, affordable, and staffed by attentive employees, but it urgently needs improvements to its Wi-Fi and ironing facilities to deliver a more comfortable guest experience.
