We stayed at Novotel London Brentford for a week. The hotel was clean enough and the rooms were reasonably comfortable, but our experience was overshadowed by repeated maintenance failures and poor management follow-up.
From the first night, we had no hot water. We reported the issue several times and were assured three times it had been fixed, yet even after 15 minutes the shower still ran cold. To add to the frustration, the television stopped working.
To the night staff’s credit, they moved us to another room at about 10 p.m., and thankfully that one had hot water. While we appreciated their help, it was frustrating to have to pack up and move rooms so late in the evening during a week-long stay.
We repeatedly asked for the manager to contact us, both to compliment the staff who helped us and to discuss the ongoing hot-water problem. We even suggested the manager could either come and speak with us directly or, alternatively, read a rather snotty review online, which we doubted his superiors would appreciate. Sadly, he chose the latter — no response ever came.
The location isn’t ideal either: it’s about a 15-minute walk to Brentford or Kew Bridge station, and you do hear motorway noise at times.
Overall, while the hotel is clean and the staff tried their best, the lack of management accountability and the need to move rooms mid-stay make this a disappointing experience. We wouldn’t stay here again
