The property is in an excellent setting. It is very close to Paddington and in a quiet mews with little street noise. There are many shops and restaurants nearby and excellent transport links. It is close to Hyde Park for amazing walks.
The accommodation is small and there are some very low doorways which could be a problem if you’re over 5ft 5…
It would be unsuitable for young children as the staircase (as described) is open and very steep.
On the negative side, there was no TV (though, as they said, it doesn’t say there is - in fact it doesn’t say a lot about what is provided…) also there was no toaster or tea towels and the cupboard where they should have been was dirty. The shower room/cubicle stank of damp which permeated the whole place is you left the door open. However, the major issue was that the cooker and hob did not work. We were there for 5 days and had communication with the company who tried several different ways of stating that it was probably our stupidity (it wasn’t). They eventually said that they would send an electrician round - this never happened. We had to throw away quite a bit of food and had the expense of eating out more than we would have done. Expedia were very sympathetic and efficient - the problem lies with the company that own the mews. Most of these complaints could be rectified relatively easily and cheaply - but will they bother…? We would definitely stay again as it was a great place otherwise.
