York Street Apartments

Superbly located in the heart of Launceston's cbd, is this home away from home apartment. If you're a couple or single looking for a getaway or in the Launceston area on business, it's the perfect alternative to staying in a hotel.  The apartment offers a very spacious bedroom with quality queen bed, a comfortable lounge area with a large smart TV, which is Netflix enabled for your enjoyment. There's a walk in shower in the bathroom. The kitchenette is equipped with a Nespresso coffee pod machine, a microwave oven, a bar fridge, toaster & kettle, along with basic crockery & cutlery. But we seriously don't think you'll need to cook/eat at home, as the apartment is within metres of the famous Morty's Food Court, where you'll be spoiled for choice of every style of cuisine. 

The heart of Launceston city is only a few short minutes stroll away. Where you'll find an abundance of retail shops, cafe's, restaurants, pubs & Village Cinema. Venture a little further & you have the world renowned Cataract Gorge & Cliff Grounds, along with Boags Brewery & Utas Stadium (home of the AFL Tassie Hawks Hawthron football club). Or jump in the car & within a 30 minute radius, of the apartment, will see you in wine & cheese country or quaint colonial villages such as Evandale, Longford or Perth.

This apartment, truly is the perfect home away from home.

Plus, there's free onsite parking for one vehicle.

N.B. Traffic noise. And possibly rubbish collection noise from neighbouring cafes.

Launceston break

We booked the apartment for 10 days. It was big enough to relax and very well presented. The windows were double glazed so despite being near a busy road it was quiet. It had basic cooking facilities which were fine for for most meals we wanted. We would be happy to book it again.

This is the noisiest place I’ve ever stayed and I was unable to sleep even wearing earplugs. Traffic noise from cars revving all night, plus loud drunks outside until the early hours. The listing said ‘traffic noise’ but this is not sufficient warning. Also the small living room is dark with almost no natural light, and there is no kitchen sink - we had to wash dishes in the small bathroom sink. This is the first negative review I’ve ever written for a property as I prefer to contact managers directly if there is a problem, however there is no way the manager could be unaware of these issues. Really disappointing given the cost (with the very high additional host fees) was more than $250 per night.
