Villa Tucán - La Fortuna

Great colonial style Villa located just 4 blocks from downtown La Fortuna, it features 4 bedrooms with A/C unit each one, 3.5 full bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, WiFi (20 Megabytes - Optic Fiber), Cable TV, open living room with a balcony next to the pool with an amazing volcano view, laundry area (Washer and Dryer), safety deposit box, private parking and Cable TV. Highly recommended for couples, families and friends visiting La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano area.

The colonial style is a house that is open, obviously is all gated but all areas of the house are facing the pool and garden areas, living room is an open area that you can sit and relax overlooking the pool area and Arenal Volcano, there is no walls between living room and pool area, so you will get a fresher house. This is the stile of houses dated from 1820 to 1920, mainly located in the lowlands of Guanacaste province, the owners use to live in Guanacaste and decided to create a similar villa with all the amenities of a Hotel.

The house is very spacious, comfortable, private, secluded and just 4 blocks away from the central park. The house is located just 4 blocks from downtown La Fortuna, there are 3 bedrooms:
Bedroom 1: King size bed, A/C unit & Private bathroom
Bedroom 2: King sized bed and A/C unit
Bedroom 3: King sized bed and A/C unit
Bedroom 4: Two king size beds, A/C unit & Private bathroom

The property has a large private pool with excellent view to the Arenal Volcano, very private property, great living room and terrace with smart TV, fully equipped kitchen, laundry area and private parking. Excellent property to enjoy your vacations in La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano area.
The house was remodeled on October 2022 adding the fourth bedroom and the swimming pool area, plus some others improvements.

We offer FREE PLANNING SERVICE for your transportation and tours in La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano area, just let us know what you would like to do and we will help you to organize your vacations in our country with excellent rates and service. Once you book our property we will send you a detailed document with information about activities, transportation and more things about La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano area. Our family of 7 stayed for 5 days. The location was excellent with a grocery store a few steps away and so close to all the Fortuna shops and restaurants. The beds were comfortable and amenities fully stocked. The living space was ideal for our family...room for everyone to comfortable enjoy conversation and TV viewing. Great pool also.

Wow what a beautiful place to stay. There was an iguana outside peeping on me during my shower which was pretty cool. Walking distance from downtown and activities are just a few uber rides away. Take advantage of the concierge services offered by staff, they went above and beyond to help us.

Check in instructions were very easy! We LOVED the home. It was the perfect location and the perfect size for our group! We absolutely loved the indoor/outdoor vibe and the view of Adrenal is spectacular- right from the back yard. We would highly recommend this spot to anyone traveling to La Fortuna. It was also very well stocked with items you would need when traveling with a group of 8.

This home was fabulously located near everything! Property management communicated well and responded to my questions quickly. The master bedroom no longer has a closet. It’s been converted into a childs room with a double bed in it. The master bedroom needs drawers or a dresser for clothing storage. Additionally the master bathroom doesn’t have windows. If the house is full this will lack privacy. I was fearful of insects/critters visiting the bathroom in the. Idle of the night. Learn from us-keep the washer lid shut. We had a bright green iguana take residence in the washer. All in all a good place, would stay there again.

The Villa Tucan experience was excellent from check-in to check-out. We arrived later than expected to a such a unique property with the living spaces/pool integrated with a spectacular view of the volcano the days that we were there. All in our party look forward to returning someday.

Beautiful Views

Property management was very responsive. They helped us book all of our tours - 6 total and all were wonderful. They recommended restaurants - we enjoyed each one. The view from the pool area was spectacular.

Fantastic house with volcano view poolside

This house was a delight. Four bedrooms with AC, very comfortable king beds, fun indoor/outdoor house with pool, and a location where you can walk to the town plaza and many places to eat. We loved it.

Inaccurate listing

I didn't want to write this and reached out to the property manager who said they'd share w the owner. The owner has chosen not to respond. A more accurate listing would have stated the kitchen is a dump, there's no hot water and the cooktop is broken but there's a temporary heater for pots. The waterfall for the pool requires a call to someone to engage remotely so early morning or late nite swims will inconvenience the mgmt team and if you choose to sit on the furniture expect lots of bug bites. That was our experience.

We stayed her for a weekend, and didn't spend much time at the house during the daytime hours. The individual who checked us in was extremely friendly and helpful and the process was easy. The second night we were there, the home had an electrical failure, which caused all of the bedroom air conditioning units to stop working. Additionally hot water in two of the bathrooms was unavailable due to the electrical issue. Some of the lights still worked. We messaged the management company, and they never responded so we had to sleep with no air conditioning and had to take cold showers in the morning. Three of the bedrooms are located on the street side of the property and there were loud motorcycles that drove around the neighborhood at all hours of the night making peaceful sleep impossible. We also witnessed what appeared to be a drug deal on the street right in front of the house. It left an impression that the neighborhood was not the safest. After we checked out, the management company said they "would let the owner know about the electrical problem", but didn't offer any concessions or support for our troubles. It's a nice place, but the circumstances of our stay left an unfavorable impression for us.

Great Location and Manager

The location is within walking distance of many things. The manager is wonderful with communication. I planned an itinerary and sent it to him, he booked all the excursions with pick up at the house - it was perfect. I wasn’t sure how I would like the open concept of the house, but it made it feel more like we were living like the locals. The private chef service was amazing! We would stay here again if we came back

Villa Tucan

We loved our stay at Villa Tucan. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious and we enjoyed many hours by the pool. The location was great, just a short walk to town. Our host was friendly and communicated well. The check-in/out process was very easy. I would recommend staying at a Tucan.

Tout était parfait excepté une chose que personne peut contrôler les nuages et la pluie car nous avons vue la même image du volcan un matin. C’était incroyablement beau pour la maison rien a dire c’était parfait à un petit détail près les planchers étaient très glissant quand ils mouillaient à la sortie de la piscine mettre des coins de caoutchouc ça serait magique et sécuritaire avec une bande de caoutchouc aussi le long du grillage comme en coin ça serait parfait pour se mettre au sec et éviter de mouiller les planchés de la demeure..

Excellent property for a few days in La Fortuna

Description and photos of the house were accurate. Location was very convenient - only a 5-minute walk to downtown. Rooms were spacious and clean. The views of the Arenal Volcano from the pool deck are spectacular. Check-in was a breeze, and we found the management company to be very responsive to our inquiries. Glad we stayed here.

So much untapped potential.

This property has so much potential. Unfortunately that potential has not been tapped. The photos are accurate to a point. But on closer inspection there are many, many flaws. The furniture in the living room space is dirty and stained. We didn’t sit in there. The furniture in the TV area was not much better. The beds are comfortable. There is no hot water in the sinks in the main two bathrooms, only the showers and it’s complicated to operate. The bedroom furniture is very outdated. In the primary bedroom there is a double desk with small drawers. What was once a walk-in closet is now a strange kids bed space? There is no where to put your clothes. The washing machine took over an hour for a standard load. There was no soap. There were no towels or paper towels in the kitchen. If you want the pool fountain on you have to contact someone who controls it from an app.Everything seems on the verge of collapse; the furniture, the cabinets, the appliances, everything. Where wall fixtures were replaced you can see the dirt/ faded paint from the previous fixture. The landscaping while beautiful, was in desperate need of trimming. Etc.The whole time we were commenting on all the really cool things you could do with this house. It feels like the owner is cutting corners and costs to the detriment of the home. It screams potential! I feel sorry for the management company that has to deal with the owners neglect.I will not return to this property and do not recommend anyone stay here.

Beautiful, tropical property conveniently located

The property manager was very nice, helpful and quick to respond. We enjoyed our stay here despite the fact that the constant cloudiness and intermittent rain did not allow us to see Arenal. Unfortunately, we experienced hot water problems that the management needs to address.

Beautiful oasis

My teens and I stayed at Vila Tucan for Thanksgiving week. The house is conveniently located near banks, markets, and restaurants. The common living area is open to the backyard, and we were comfortable in the open air. No issues with bugs or other wildlife. The bedrooms were cool and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice find!

Quiet neighborhood and still convenient enough to walk down town. The central location could not have been better to explore all the different activities in the area. Property management responded quickly and offered great suggestions for points of interest. They were very helpful for sure and would recommend them and their services.
