This was, unfortunately, the worst vacation rental experience our family has had. When we arrived, the property was dirty, smelled unpleasant. There was trash around the exterior. Inside, the floors and furniture were sticky, and sand was throughout the house. We immediately contacted management and had to request additional cleaning and maintenance. Despite this, we still purchased our own Clorox and Lysol products and spent part of our vacation cleaning because many areas did not feel adequately sanitized. The maintenance issues were numerous: several light fixtures did not work, the AC vent made loud noises, multiple showers drained poorly, and the front door knob was heavily rusted. My brother cut his hand on the rusted hardware. There was also a broken bedroom bench and a door frame hanging off the wall with exposed splinters. One bedroom had what appeared to be blood stains, a damaged door handle, and a lock that did not work. Several blankets and pillow shams were stained. We attempted to wash them ourselves but the dryer was so inefficient that we ultimately did not use them. There were also flies throughout the house. Management responded to our calls and texts, but we spent so much time reporting issues that it became exhausting. Eventually, we stopped reporting everything bc it was simply too much. Instead of enjoying our family vacation, we spent a significant amount cleaning, coordinating repairs, and dealing with problems that should have been addressed before.
