Florida Keys Townhouse For Rent 2/2

Located in Kawama Yacht Club, a secure gated community with a peaceful island feeling. Our townhouse was renovated 6 months ago and has a fully stocked kitchen. This location also comes with floats to float your cares away in the lovely salt water lagoon. Our bathroom has double shower heads to take a relaxing shower. The master bedroom has a new foam mattress and yummy pillows. Both balconies have chairs and a table to enjoy your morning coffee or a cocktail at night. There's also a washer/dryer and out door BBQ.
Located in the heart of Key Largo, Kawama Yacht Club is a tropical island paradise of over 22 landscaped acres and is a self-contained vacation spot. You can snorkel in our three-acre salt water lagoon, swim in one of our two heated pools, or hop on our golf cart and bring a glass of wine to watch the breathtaking sunrises or sunsets from our oceanfront private beach or 400’ jetty. Our family friendly resort boasts a new playground and tennis courts. For the avid fisherman and boater, Kawama has a marina where you will have free use of the boat ramp and where renting a boat slip is an option. No boat? No problem! Boat rentals and deep sea fishing charters are close by. For the diving enthusiast, the waters of our oceanfront property are part of John Pennekamp’s dive waters with beautiful coral reefs and fabulous diving spots just offshore. Kawama is close to a variety of unique shops and local eateries that offer the best in fresh seafood and key lime pie. Dolphins Plus and Dolphin Cove are just minutes away. Enjoy the two-hour scenic drive to Key West, taking in the vivid turquoise waters along the way.

The hosts were welcoming...The accommodations were not up to par. Does anyone PHYSICALLY, go to check these units before they're rented? We could see tiles broken outside and in.The front door was damaged. Looked like someone tried to break in using crowbars.Kitchen tiles were cracked.The downstairs bathroom toilet was slow to work. The bathroom itself was so tiny, not one of the 4 adults staying there could use it. Couldn't turn around in the shower. We think the shower was an add-on so they could claim 2 full bathrooms. NO electric outlet to shave or blow hair. Not one shelf to put our things. Bedroom beds were on the floor. The 2nd bedroom had a bunk bed, a single bed on floor and NO place to hang clothes. There was a board that the hangers couldn't fit on and it was very low..for children I suppose. We had to hang our clothes on the bunk bed frames.The stairs were steep and shallow. We had to walk sideways. Those steps were also cracked. No bannister to hold while on stairway. Also, seemed to have an electric problem. Ceiling light was blinking on and off in kitchen.The living room couch was filthy.No safety bar/gate at top of stairs, an accident waiting to happen. When we stripped our beds before leaving, The mattress cover was exposed.I almost threw up when I saw the massive stains on the mattress.We are 4 adults who travel together often. These are the worst accomodations we've ever had.

When we arrived very late the place had not been cleaned but the owner was very much on the ball and had the cleaning crew there the following morning. Very happy with her response time and resolution to the problem. The townhouse is a nice property with functional amenities. The kitchen is very well appointed with everything you need to cook in. The furniture in the pictures is not the furniture in the condo. There is one bunk bed and a separate twin in the second bedroom. The master furniture is pictured but the box spring and mattress are on the floor and that was a huge issue for me, an old man with back problems. Getting in and out of it was painful and miserable. The stairway is very narrow and has no handrail so if stairs are a problem then this one is a little tricky. We had a great time and the condo was sufficient but there were a few surprises. Oh and you may want to know their is no assigned parking but it didn’t become an issue for us till out second to last night there when we came home and someone was in the only spot in front of our unit. Had to park down by another building.

The unit worked well for us, coordinating with others who stayed in other units. We were able to make use of the Kawana facilities for a gathering and for swimming in the lagoon, but not the pool because it was too hot. We were able to use some locked up kayaks but only through another unit's property manager. Very nice to have some floating toys that were available with the unit to use.

We had a great stay being in Key Largo for mini season. It was nearby friends and the marina within the complex where our boat was and the place was very clean. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. The golf cart worked great for us getting to and from the boat and was a nice amenity to have. The owner was very communicative and check-in was very easy. Thanks for letting us stay!

When Comfort and Entertainment Met :)

Cozy cottage feel with everything you need and more. The property was as described. We traveled with (3) teenage boys, and they were fully entertained the entire trip. The jetty offers amazing views of the water, the golf cart is a nice touch to be able to get around the property with ease, there is a Kayak, various floats, and snorkeling gear available for your use. There is a king size bed with smart tv in master bedroom. The second bedroom actually had 3 beds (2 twin beds & 1 full size bed) and a smart tv. There is good closet space in both bedrooms. Plenty of electrical outlets to charge your devices. Kitchen was fully stocked. Plenty of towels for home use as well as beach towels for the pool and lagoon. Swimming is an option in the lagoon as well as pool, but if you're looking for a beach you will have to leave the property. I would definitely recommend this property.

Key Largo Stay

Overall, our stay was great. The condo fit the needs for our trip and the grounds were pretty and nice to walk. There were not directions on how to use the TV and none of the remotes would work so we could not watch TV at night. The master bed was not very comfortable. Other than that, our state was great!

Super fun and unique place

Didn’t know what to expect but this stay definitely surprised us and exceeded our expectations. The property is older but very well kept and updated to look and feel great. The lagoon, pools and golf cart out to the jetty were all enjoyed over our 3 day stay. Fun little place.

Great location, clean unit with good amenities!

We rented this unit for a girl's dive trip and it was the perfect place for us! There were four of us and the rooms were good sized and the upstairs bathroom accommodated us. There is a downstairs, full bath which was very convenient for quick after dive showers. The kitchen was well appointed and the screened in porch was a great perk for drying wet gear. If you are diving in Key Largo you cannot beat the location of this condo complex, it is close to everything and getting to the dive centers was a less than 2 min drive. I wish Key Largo would let you drive the golf carts on the streets like Key West but they don't yet. The property manager was good to us and communication was easy. We had a little bad luck with the golf cart, it wouldn't charge, but Odalys kept up communication with us which I really appreciated. I believe the golf cart rental company dropped the ball on that one but, because we can't drive it off property anyway it really didn't matter to us. The complex sits on a lagoon and has a couple of nice pools and BBQ areas on the water line. All in all a very nice stay, would highly recommend, we will be returning next year for our dive trip!

Destination wedding weekend

Overall great stay. Would have loved to give a 5 star review however a couple things were wrong with the property. First the ice maker in the fridge didn’t work therefore, we had to buy ice, second the golf cart was a major advantage to the property to get around and use. It was never there nor was there any communication prior to coming that it wasn’t there until we message the owner. Was getting fixed , was told it would be back even though they are on island time, which I understand, but knew that meant it wasn’t coming before we leave . Third, the Netflix in the master bedroom/ tv didn’t work even when I tried to log on with my information. Wouldn’t connect to internet. Not the biggest deal breaker as we were not in the house / rooms much. Just inconvenient when we tried to use it at first . Everything else of the house was great and the location, you couldn’t beat it . My son loved the lagoon with all the fish. Was a little more murky than I envisioned. However we used the khaki to explore the lagoo and loved it . The pools were very nice as well. House could use a little updating here and there but overall for what we needed it for, it was perfect . We had family stay in another condo and it was perfectly updated and pristine . I would however recommend this to anyone to use and stay in .

Close to lagoon and heated pool

I hate giving anything lower than 5 stars, but there were a few things that caused me to give 4. 1. No shampoo. Listing says there is shampoo and after traveling since 3am the last thing we wanted to do is go to the store at 7/8pm to buy shampoo because the listing wasn’t accurate. When I text the host she said sometimes guests leave shampoo. Not okay. I went back to the listing to make sure it was there and sure enough it was. 2. Storm door handle out the back was broken. You had to carefully shut the door and rig it not to shut so you don’t get locked out. 3. To turn the AC up you have to press the up arrow VERY hard. I wish we’d been able to figure that out sooner. I hope that helps someone or it gets replaced. Everything else was good. We were pleasantly surprised there was another bed in the kids bedroom, so our 3 kids got their own beds. There were plenty of towels and quite a few kitchen supplies. Could have used some storage containers, but we made it work. Loved using the golf cart to go out to the jetty. Loved how close we were to the heated pool and lagoon. Be aware sometimes in the keys they will randomly shut the water off. It was off for only 30 minutes, but when you don’t know what’s happening it’s a little concerning/confusing.

Nice unit, needs a new front door

We stayed here for 3 weeknights in September. The unit was clean and well stocked. The pool is close to the unit, well maintained and quiet. We had a glitch at check-in when we found the front door swollen shut from recent rains (an old wood door in a metal frame). It took numerous tries and pulling with all our might to get the door open. The property manager (who was very responsive) said that the unit had not been occupied for a few weeks which contributed to the door issue. Two days later, the front door lock stopped working. The property manager was once again very responsive and had a handyman come promptly and replace the batteries. This is a great unit for a family, or one couple as in our case. It would be awkward for two couples, as one full bath is upstairs with the two bedrooms, and the other full bath is downstairs off the kitchen. The golf cart is a really nice extra feature. We enjoyed cruising around the resort in the evenings. I would stay here again (I hope the front door is replaced by then).

Nice community

We arrived and the couch was filthy, the countertops weren’t great either. Cracks in floor, a couple of ripped outdoor chairs. One kayak, should have 2 at least. Golf cart was dirty too. View was another building. Shower presser was awful. But the community was nice, nice lagoon and loved the jetty to walk out on.

Key Largo Weekend

Spent 3 nights over the weekend in Key Largo for diving and exploring. The condo was very clean and had everything one would need for a longer stay. We didn’t use them but there was a golf cart, grill, pool floats, kayak.,etc. available for use. Nice big television with easy access to all the channels for football game watching. Check in was easy, the gate guard was expecting me and the door was accessible by code. The owner provided an email with all the instructions as well as local spots to visit. I would definitely stay at the property again when I head back to Key Largo.

Paradise is right!

Beautiful property in lovely gated community. The unit was spotless and very well equipped of you wish to cook while there. Bedrooms were nice and comfortable. Owner is great at returning messages and check in could not be easier
